They've done it by offloading "elite" players knowing they had plenty coming through behind them.

Maybe in 4-5 years we'll be in a position to offload a Dow or Stocker every year to keep replenishing, but you can bet your arse there will be some unhappy fans if it happens.

They have had no choice in offloading top picks and somehow I knew this was going to be raised as a positive.

The have capitalised on players wanting to move but also and more importantly traded down to high picks and drafted very, very well. Trading down this year isn’t the first time.

Not sure the live trading works like that. If GC make their bid on Green, I don't think they can all hit the pause button and try and work out a trade.

Agree that it's an unlikely turn of events, but geez it'd be interesting if it happened.

I would believe the discussion between Gold Coast and GWS behind closed doors to avoid this scenario.
