It isn't dumb. You need a good KPF to win finals in which JD is. They rolling the dice cause there is no KPF Caliber player in the current market at the moment.

I am sure they are going to a lot of teams at the moment offering 5+9 for like Jeremey Cameron, Tom Lynch, Ben Brown and Harry Mckay and no one is budging.
