BREAKING: S29 All-Sweet FA Team Reduced to 16 Players
H. Fewer Than, 26 February 2020
The Sweet FA has this afternoon been rocked by a major announcement pertaining to All-Sweet FA honours in Season 29. It is understood that just 16 players will be recognised come the end of the season - a major change to the regular 20 selections, in line with the typical qootball line-up.
It is believed that the change will soon be announced on the basis that only specialist positions will be recognised.
League administrator Ant Bear infamously lashed out at interchange specialists through the Season 28 awards season.
"This is not a specialist position," Ant Bear said on presentation of the Season 28 interchange representatives.
"It is a position that requires versatility, patience and being the last player picked."
However, a closer look at the Season 28 All-Sweet FA team sees Ant Bear named on the right half-forward flank, despite starting the season at full-forward, and subsequently moving into the midfield.
The hypocrisy has caused uproar in the Sweet FA community, with one seasoned campaigner - preferring to remain anonymous - particularly aggrieved.
"Based on the Season 28 All-Sweet FA team, it is clear that the half-forward flank is not a specialist position. It also doesn't provide the versatility or burst impact that the interchange provides. Going off accepted logic, half-forward flank players should not be recognised."
Based on recent events, it is believed that All-Sweet FA selection in Season 29 will, controversially, be restricted to just 16 players, with a team featuring no interchange specialists, and no half-forward flanks.
More to come.
