Disappointing Day 2 and I wonder if the ground is softer than it appears as there was some huge margins and they were looking even slower than usual up the famed Cheltenham hill. Still...onto Day 3:

NOVICE CHASE - FAUGHEEN the machine! They will fair dinkum tear the grandstand down if this 12yo legend of the jumps can get the job done over the big fences for the first time at the Festival. Has been an absolute star since winning the Supreme all the way back in 2013 (I was there!!!) and it would be the moment of the festival if he can take this out.

RYANAIR - The race for horses not good enough for the Gold Cup or Champion Chase. Going with the enigmatic MIN who has always promised so much without ever really delivering on the hype (and I just can't bring myself to back a horse with **** in the name)

STAYERS HURDLE - Last year's winner PAISLEY PARK looks the days banker at a prohibitive odds on quote. Has won 7 straight in a division that is used to the best horse putting long winning streaks together.

Nice win from MIN to eke out a profit yesterday. Onto the final day and the running of the Cox Plate of jumps - the Gold Cup.

GOLD CUP - A bit like the Melbourne Cup you often win this at your first attempt, or not at all, and repeating is extremely difficult. It just takes so much out of a horse. Using that system I'm happy to stick with the recent Irish success in this race and go with DELTA WORK who has won the main two Irish lead ups in the form of the Irish Gold Cup and the 3m Chase over Christmas.

TRIUMPH - The Golden Slipper of jumps for the 4yos and hoping ASPIRE TOWER can bounce back from its fall in Ireland last time out when it was a prohibitive 1/3F. It was undefeated in two runs this season before that again as a prohibitive fave and you can get 6/1 for it to bounce back here.

ALBERT BARTLETT - this is a race for the real slowies who may turn into Gold Cup horses one day. Plenty of picket fence horses lining up here with most of the combatants avoiding each other so far this season. Going to go with the Mullins trained MONKFISH who comes here having thrashed absolute camels at his last two.

Parmie tomorrow looks a bet. Never backed it before as its Parma not parmie. Anyway, first time at 1600m, likes Caulfield. Should go close.

Surely we cant give Cascadian another go could we up in distance could help. iluvparis

Thought he was poor last start and 1500m still short of his best but wouldn't put anyone off backing him at the price

Novice chase at Cheltenham last night was a great race. The Cheltenham festival would be a great event to attend.

Honestly it is the best festival in the world in terms of crowd atmosphere for the pure racing fan.

How so? The analysis supports what I said about Ben Asgari. I wasn’t suggesting he’s out-performing those 3 because I simply don’t know.
What analysis or data do you have to support your views?

The vibe....mabo
