Not too keen on Dizzy. Don't really rate what he's done with the strikers apart from one season.

Yeah if you take out the premiership win.... geez! Why on earth would you

Also dominated county cricket

If he wins us a Shield I won't worry if the other couple of years aren't as good

With practically the same team they've underperformed in the other seasons. We need sustained success unlike the one offs we got under Cox and Berry

He's had sustained success

Amazing criticism

You'd only want a coach who achieves perpetual premierships

If you win a comp I expect practically the same side to be contenders for the next couple of seasons.

Same could be said after the Redbacks 2 sheffield shield final appearances. Doesn't excuse the seasons that followed.

Earned promotion from Div 2 for Yorkshire, went onto win two Div 1 championships in a row, narrowly missing a 3rd. Took perennial underperforming Strikers team to their first ever championship.

Under your logic you would have got rid of Alastair Clarkson after his follow up to their 2008 flag fell flat for a couple of years.

apparantly he was close

How are the Bulldogs going after their one good season? If you want to compare to the AFL

You stand by that it would have been a good call to get rid of him then?

On what planet did Gillespie only have one good season?

On what planet did Gillespie only have one good season?

At the strikers.

You're reading way too much into this. Turning "I'm not sold on him" into 'He's a useless coach and shouldn't even be at the Strikers"

Andrews is a considerably bigger loss than Zampa as far as red ball cricket goes

Wonder who's second in line now? I am assuming Pope will get more opportunities as the main spinner, but beyond that I genuinely can't see who else may be a chance. There is no name standing out at grade level, that's for sure

Bosito as a spinning all rounder?

Yes they will play Bosisto as the main spinner as Pope is not up to it and to be honest I don't rate him at all

I guess we didn't get Renshaw either with nothing announced

Personally I don't like the idea at all, but I suspect you are probably right.

Bosisto can get some decent work on the ball, but I highly doubt he's nearly consistent enough to be considered close to a full time bowler. His action looks better than it once was, but it's still not a pretty sight

I’m guessing we’ll revert back to

Hunt
Weatherald
Ferguson
Head/Bosisto
Lehmann
Cooper
Head/Nielsen
Winter
Sayers
Mennie
Agar

Nick Bertus has averaged over 50 for the last 3 years in Sydney Grade cricket, so if he can bring that form for Northern Districts he will surely pay for the Redbacks sooner rather than later.
Our batting has been pathetic and they have let the bowlers down for the past 5 years and unless this is addressed nothing will change. Cooper, McInerney, Lehmann & Weatherald need to be much more consistent than they have been recently if we are to win more games.

Don't see how my success on Cricket Captain wouldn't make me a suitable applicant.
