Marchbank and a second. Deal.

Dont reckon Sydney would do that, they will want Daniher again and his body is just as unreliable as Marchbanks so dont think they'd want 2 unreliable trades.

I would do Dow or Fisher and 1st rounder for Papley with 3rd rounder coming back to us

So would I

Not sure losing a dow or fisher would ruin one area
Look at setterfield. He's needed a fair few games to show his value, but we've persisted and now it's paying off. Dow will be the same imo - needs to tidy up a few elements of his game, but hes a natural

I see more upside in Dow than Fisher - if dow can fix his kicking then he could be that burst midfielder we crave. But i think papley makes us a better team than losing either of them. You have to give up something to get something and thats what i would give up

I wouldn’t trade Dow or fish. Both players have unique attributes that will be invaluable down the track. Can’t ruin one area to fix another area.
And Papley kicks bags of goals, is the swans best player, and would be a transformative weapon for us up forward. Gotta give something to get something

I think that is what he is worth; to us.
again, lay off the sauce.

We offered 9 last year, why would him improving and being in career best form drop his value to us by such a staggering amount?

I'm not in the "just pay swans whatever they want to get him" camp, but jeez, a mid 2nd is like Freo offering their 2020 1st for Cripps & Fish.

I think we need a fairdinkum mid or 2; that’s where our major currency should be aimed. Our current and future prospect/s in that smallish forward/FP are no longer so dire that we need to pay Harley what he dictates. Beside, he’s a year older, and just too small.

Exactly, if getting Papley means losing a Fisher or Dow type you would seriously have to consider it.

Eddie, Honey, Phillips & Owies? Or are you counting Murph, Fish & Gibbo as mid/fwds? Martin isn't a small forward, neither is Cuningham, Kennedy or Jack.

A year older?... He just turned 24. I'm not sure he's too small to be a small forward. He's a nuggety build, not slight, and probably about the same height as Neale. These factors do SFA to reducing his value.

I get that you want a mid, me too (not a Wines/Crouch/SPP/Sier/Brodie mid, more of a Kelly/McLuggage/Gaff mid, or a Caldwell), but the rest of your logic doesn't make sense to me.

While I don't think I'd trade Dow, I also don't think he'd have much value on the trade market. I don't think we'd get a first round pick for him if we put him on the block, probably just a second is the best we could hope for.

So his involvement in a trade with Paps probably wouldn't move the needle much at all.
