Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

Silly season is definitely here..I love this time of year, so many crazy rumours floating around and getting discussed. I also hate this this of year, because there are so many crazy rumours floating around and getting discussed.

It's very interesting seeing the rumours, hypotheticals and opinions discussed around here..sometimes heatedly, and I just love it when we get a deal done.

This trade period is obviously going to be a very interesting one without SOS, and considering the fact that we're nearly there and need a couple/few more pieces of the puzzle.

Kelly might be the only 1 I would risk it for although I'm not sure 2 x 1st with a second coming back for a guy with about 5 years in him is what I'm keen on at the stage where we are at...

I honestly believe 24 and under for all big trades, happy to do 2nds and 3rds for older.

Williams and Brad Crouch as FAs would be the dream. Graham, Caldwell and Witherden for 2nds. Done

I find it strange when you and others think he has 5 years left, if he comes to us next year, he will have completed 5 seasons with us and still only be 30, I don’t see 30 being old, so I’d say he would play 6-8 years.

Can we at least threaten to delist McGov, see if that has any impact.

Unfortunately, he's a lost cause. He's 26 now - going on 27 next year.

He won't be improving. With the amount of i50's we have he still can't get touches.

Good players bring themselves into the game... he can't.

One thing that I will mention, I've given Levi a bit of crap in the past, but if I were him I'd be filthy af at McGovern. Levi is a limited footballer and he had to work his chops off year after year to get the most out of himself. For him to turn around and see we have a bloke here who cbf and he's getting paid twice as much to do so must make him feel sick.

Saad is probably worth more than what I'd like to see us pay in terms of picks. This is the sort of trade we could move on a player to fill an area of need for the team.

Hearing Zak Williams will definitely leave GWS. Genuine 50/50 between us and North at the moment. Essendon may go harder if Saad leaves.

If it's between us and Norf we've got nothing to worry about. Can't see them grabbing two FA's from GWS though, heard they've given Corr a decent offer too.

As for Essendrug, come on, what's with them. If they want a Williams type why not re-sign Saad? They're in desperate need for big bodied mids how stupid can they be.

Saad's contract is up. If Dodo pushes the club they're dealing with for more than he's worth and said club doesn't budge, they'll lose him for nothing.

Williams is the better fit than Saad even if he costs us an extra couple of 100k salary wise. No paying up to DoDo, ZW being a year younger and also is competent to play midfield provides us with more variability. Also think he’s a better penetrating kick.
Although, we need a specialist HBF and both can be that player. I just think there’s more value with Williams being a FA and it’s more responsible rather than to pony up a high decent pick to meet the bummers demands and use it on our next target who might be high profile. If he walks maybe we out price others in the PSD like we did with Martin and front load first year?

The Papley one is weird, I’d take it that he’s staying but seems no one really knows if there’s murmurs of him going still.
