Jayden Hunt doing a naughty on Petracca.

Prepare for outrage, Melbourne! Or not...

The devotion of Tiger fans in hunting for these phenomena is curious to say the least.

Made a meal of it in the end. But happy with the win. Now over to the dockers.
Bit of an issue though only playing one decent quarter. Will make things tough in finals if we can’t string 4 quarters together.

Against a terrible team, with the umpires handing it to them, melbourne only just get over the line. Good luck in finals.

Alex Neal-Bulleen gets a quarter of a second chance, holding the ball.

Langdon clear mark not paid.

Smith gets a free after nudge when the ball was already out of bounds.

Stringer misses the ball completely in marking contest, over the back goal.

Petracca pushed in the back while kicking, Shiel goal.

Petracca tackled immediately, lets the ball fall out.

Essendon player clearly holding the ball immediately afterwards.

Yep, those horrific umpires cost Essendon. Nice narrative creation based on one poor decision.

Agree, Melbourne were poor and should’ve won by 10 goals.

I know you didn’t quote the rest of my post because you know it’s true.

Hopefully Rutten and Dodoro also tell themselves over the off season it was the umpires that were the difference, and Essendon add a few more 178cm 76kg beasts to that midfield.

Probably a bit rich to blame the umps. Decisions were made both ways that were dodgy. You can hand pick whatever ones you want to suit your narrative. for Essendon you should look inside. The listless effort in the second is what cost them.

lol, Essendon subbed out 3 top players after that last goal they kicked, while the comeback was nice from an aesthetic POV, Dons were never winning this game, so forget those nasty umpires - nice low draft pick! Don't * it up Dodo!(if you're still around to make it).

It was an indictment that Melbourne weren’t up by 10 goals at three quarter time.

Essendon were more horrid than the umpires in the first three quarters and they were damn lucky to get that goal just before three quarter time as Salem (I think) was clearly tackled without the ball that led to their opportunity.

If Fritsch had taken those chances early, and if he had been paid a free when Saad was allowed to tackle him when he was trying to complete a mark in the goal square - Essendon fans would’ve needed about 15 Petracca non-decisions to delude themselves that they woz robbed.

Yes, yes, Essendon orchestrated that whole game brilliantly.

Yes, yes they did, just enough of an effort to suck supporters in again next year esp with Worsfold walking out the door.

& giving Dees supporters just a bit of hope that they are not the complete trash the rest of us know they are.

Win win.
