I chose Dow, not because I want to get rid of him necessarily, just that I think he would more likely satisfy Essendon's demands in trading for Merrett. I'd be surprised if O'Brien was as sought after as Dow.

Also, if we were able to successfully recruit Viney, Merrett and Williams, I don't really see a spot for Dow any time soon so he might be looking for opportunities elsewhere.

I can see that, but the club has a plan for him from what I've heard.

Stocker is going to be twice the player that Merrett is. This year hasn't been kind to his development with the COVID hubs and the lack of dedicated training facilities.
