***************************************************

Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

can someone please tell me where we are at with Saad? Id rather not think we are getting him then he goes off to richmond. Rather just get told right now so we can move on

Next week I think we'll know more. Experts are saying Carlton, St Kilda and Richmond are the 3 clubs in the hunt.

Just me, but I’d play Kennedy deep in a Gunston type role, solid medium forward option, relieving Crippa (great Mark) for 80/20 In the centre. This sh*t about resting everyone on the bench is crap, let Crippa rest forward. Let Charlie run, he’s got too many skills to waste just in the forward line. Like the McKay and MCGovern ideas too.
Gunston is an elite runner that gets back to support the defenders and runs hard forward. Not sure that Kennedy has that ability.

As Teague mentioned in an interview a couple of weeks ago, there is no resting in the forward line. Forwards need to run as hard as anyone.

Haha no worries mate. I’ll just give Austin a call and ask him what he is up to, so you don’t have to think about it anymore.

I’m sure Hawthorn have had plenty of guys take big unders but like Geelong who also would’ve had players taking unders, when someone came and offered stupid money to their best player both teams lost them. That has happened a hell of a lot to GWS. Cameron is probably the only one getting maximum dollars playing there and when he signed he was looking like being the clear best KPF in the league.
I also look at their list and it has been imo the most talented over the last 5 years. If they have had the most talented list for five years then considering they are spending the same amount as all the other sides then I think they have probably managed it as well as they could’ve.
As you say there needs to be a limit, teams like WC and Richmond pay their high end core huge amounts but they just have a smaller top end.

Do players leave WC? I know there is Judd but who else of quality ups and leaves the Eagles? My mind is blank

Obviously not talking about Gary Lyon then.
I used to think he was alright then saw him belittle and talk down to a guest on the front bar
In my opinion He showed a real nasty streak was all polite and respectful to the hosts bit of a laugh with the boys
A lady came from on from whatever show he hosted when he was young She had a bit of joke and he almost spat his comments at her I was very surprised at the tone pretty nasty stuff

Re: 2nd paragraph. Our tendency to instigate these horribly slow, low quality entries... a predictable bomb to the pocket where Levi goes for the same ball as harry & drags all of the defenders with him to make it a ******* hot mess, or a 'cute' crappy shallow entry out near the wing... none of this helps our forwards. Hopefully Williams helps correct some of this.

From my perspective over here in the cheap seats... Charlie FF deep in the square, McKay roaming at CHF and Gov as 3rd tall moving up and back between the pocket and the wing feels 'right'. TDK solo ruck of course.

We'll just have to get Harry to have a crack in the ruck forward of centre (surely he'd like the idea of grabbing one out of the ruck and kicking the goal around his body?!), maybe if we've got Marchbank back in the side he can cover Jones for a little so Jones can do some relief ruck work in the back half? I don't know, anyone... Mitch, Jack... whoever. Dogs run with Dunkley (at least he's bigger than Grigg...), I'd rather us take a similar approach than play some combination of TDK/Pitto/Levi.
I agree, I'd love Curnow strictly in the forward 50, ideally 10 to 30 out.

So 2-6 but not far off closing the gap.

The bigger concerns are efforts against teams not in finals.

Hawks game 31up to 30 down
Demons 42pts down
Swans 39pts down despite win
GWS losing after having control
Crows loss
North lucky to hold on

Yep that has what cost us a top 8 spot, not those other games.
