Wasn't that more to do with the timing of his retirement announcement being post final list lodgement than anything else?

Not many have retired whilst so good and at his age without having already declined.

Salmon didn’t retire before going to the hawks, he retired after his time at the hawks. He took a year off and then came back and played 15 more games for the bombers.

Same with Mal Michael, he didn’t miss a year, he just announced his retirement from Brisbane, then decided to play two more years at Essendon. It was more of a Luke Hodge type scenario.

... the great Cameron Wood came out of retirement to play for Carlton. I think it might have even been one of those seasons they won the wooden spoon?

Maybe comparable to Carey making a comeback at Adelaide after 12 months off. Not a world beater but finished in top 10 B&F and kicked a few goals.
Or maybe Dermie after being cut prematurely at Hawthorn. A disaster at Sydney but pretty serviceable forward at Collingwood.

I'd have Rance on a cheap contract and make him earn a spot.

He lives in a fantasy land where Moores hammies are only susceptible when he changes ends of the ground but only when we kick that direction. Apparently when he follows on defenders hammer and turns or zags with them the Hammies are under less duress lmao.

Apparently when you need to make up for reaction time with pace as all defenders often do throughout a game its less strenuous then timing your leads when you want!

Such an inane argument and ridiculous with no basis in reality. He has done hammies at both ends.

Yeah, my understanding and memory was that he suffered almost the exact same number of injuries at both ends.

No we would be stupid to throw more money down the toilet.
Could easily move Moore forward (I've said for years he is a natural) and have enough cover down back with the one spot we have depth. All for someone who hasn't played in 2 years has been retired 1 and is over 30 (added to our ageing overpaid list)

Wasn't there a new final list lodgement at the end of the supplemental selection period? I thought they'd used that final list spot left by Rance's late retirement to grab Stack?

No. He was genuinely retiring. Essendon coaxed him out of retirement by doing a deal where he was paid well, barely had to attend training and could miss some games throughout the year.
