Vintage Bay When you're the "CAMRY CROWS" naturally you'll want to train in a car park.

Was walking through the car park to get to Football Park on Friday night and I walked past a set of goal posts. There was a uniformed guy waving his arms and directing cars where to go so I asked him to confirm that this was Max Basheer Reserve.

"Yep that's right".

"That's where the Crows train isn't it?"

"Yep"

"What are you letting cars drive on it for?"

"Mate it's a car park. It's been a car park for thirty years. We're not changing that to suit the Crows. Where else can people go?"

"Do the Crows ever get to train inside the ground?"

"Yep when we want to mow the grass out here we move them in."

"What about Port?"

"Yeah they train inside a bit too but usually they train at Alberton Oval."

You might have thought I was kidding so I took some pics...

Once inside I saw the Adelaide cheer squad erect a banner referring to their team as the Camry Crows! Holy Toledo! I thought that stuff went out the window years ago after the words in the club song got changed from "Mighty Camry Crows".

So there you have it folks. When you still think of yourself as an advertising gimmick for a car company then naturally you'll be happy to train in a car park.

C-U-L-T-U-R-E. ;)

Yeah I'm sure it happened just like that.

Struggling, struggling.

Let's face it this is pretty embarrassing stuff that many people may have been unaware of.

What car park fiasco?

This one.

This is why Choco, or Primus and Kingsley can just drive up and sit in their cars listening to music or current affairs while your boys run around. Can't do that at Alberton. Neil Craig's spies have to get into the ground first. Hell they could do wheelies if they wanted to but they don't because they're responsible citizens.

Its probably half the reason their players are always getting injured. It's the equivalent of training on concrete. Not very scientific if you ask me.

Umm isnt there a game on?
Look at the lights , they are on :o

You want a shovel? Or is the one you have ok?
:D

Like I told you, I was walking to the ground on Friday night for the sho..I mean NAB cup game. The Crows were allowed inside because they were playing against us. We won by the way. :)

Ever played or even trained on there yourself? It's actually a very soft, well maintained ground.

Yes I have and as a result it game me shin splints.

No. But if I wanted to I could. It's a bit far to go to walk the dog but if I wanted to I could do that too.

I wouldn't be able to walk the dog on Alberton Oval though. ;)

Another point to be raised is why are Adelaide based at West Lakes of all places? You would think they would base themselves close to the city being the Adelaide Crows and all. At least Port train in the close proximity to Port Adelaide. Maybe the name Camry Crows does suit them better :)

So what do they do when Port plays there?
Jesus, Mary and Joseph! When we go to Football Park we go inside.

While our boys are playing or training inside the ground our supporters can go and park in the car park where the Crows generally train.
