Love beating Carlton on a Thursday night

It's as though it has f*cked-up a long-weekend for them

Thurs night football when we win.. forget about it re.. now that we can go out and dance.. ****en evacuate the dancefloor mate.. go out and enjoy the win and shit like that.. it's shity on a Friday night when you play at the G.. and you're exposed to the elements and that re.. wind and rain ****s up your hair and clothes a bit.. you go out smelling like that footy pungy G smell and that sort of a thing.. a free fri night after a big thurs night win.. ****en.. go out looking mint.. throw on the ****en la nuit de lhomme.. and can go a bit nuts and that re.. all happy and shit. Really give yourself the best chance to impress and that re.

Was Cal, he played that defensive role on Saad and was good. Saad hard to stop and still played well but Cal made sure his disposals were not as free as usual I thought

I can't be objective about Cal. Gavin has raised his boys to be good respectful people, the way his dad raised him. We'll never get less than 100% from them. He can build on last night's performance and so can WHE. I'm so happy for them both.

Good Horse neither of the above mentioned players are grumpy Clydesdales, as much as you wish they were.

Who even wants to be objective when Gavin Brown is involved.

I had a better angle of this at the ground, but this sort of IQ is what’s had Pendles at a higher level than most for his entire career. Lead directly to the Ruscoe goal.

I think both have the spirit of the Clydesdale, which is a rare compliment.

And I take issue with your characterisation of Clydesdales as grumpy. We are a playful, joyous breed when not in harness.

Clangers and disposal efficiency. The same names just kept going back to the well tonight and like I said it made it very hard to watch.
Not sure how you found the game hard to watch. I actually really enjoyed our ball movement. Yes we made some errors but at least we did it while taking the game on. I personally hope we keep playing like we did last night.

IQ is still not there. Too loose and lacks strength at the contest, but will make it.

With Maynard off the boil it’s the one concern I have with our “back 9”. IQ is building and improving almost weekly, but he’s still vulnerable when isolated. He got burnt a few times by Gibbons and Fisher last night so I’m sure the club are working on tightening it up.

He just torched that journo who asked about Grundy. He looks ready to kill.
Because it was Tom Browne - the same journo that exposed the Pies worry of Treloars family being in a diff state, and Stephenson being forced out, and Bucks position at the club not being guaranteed...

the first two weakened out trading position, when bucks and co would’ve had their sights set on a top 5 draft pick from NM or GC

Great night. Nothing more satisfying than beating Carlton and now we've surpassed them in the head to head record.

The first half was terrific. Really loved our ball movement, and the way the forwards were creating space in the attacking 50 was the most impressive aspect of our improvement from last week.

I think going forward into the future, the first half is what the team should model itself on as being the standard we set. It has imperfections, but it demonstrates we can score heavily when we want to and it's far more entertaining brand of football.

Overall, I enjoyed our style of play tonight. We played with more dash and dare, and even when mistakes were made I didn't feel so despondent watching it as players were willing to take risks and make something happen. The intent was strong from the beginning which is all you can ask for as a supporter.

Sidebottom's inclusion was important for us. Really helped structure the midfield and give us that edge, which in turn benefited the forward line getting good delivery. A real shame to see Elliott go down with an ankle injury, so hopefully it isn't as serious as anticipated.

Wanted to see big games from Grundy, De Goey and Adams and all they delivered in spades, which was comforting.

Moore is a star. I think he's our best player now. Consistent, beats his man more often than not, loves taking plenty of marks and I think he's got captaincy material written all over him which is something I didn't contemplate before this year.

The highlight of the night was a lot of us chanting "Colllllllinnnnngwoooood" at the Ponny with a few minutes left and seeing Moore pump up the crowd. Got the adrenaline pumping!

Going to enjoy the weekend sitting back and relaxing now :)
any film of moore pumping up the crowd, dont think fox showed it

Surprised we won that. Carton even worse than I thought.

only saved by the brilliance of Moore, Crisp and De Goey, plus adams and pendles. Quaynor also good. Cal better, but still can’t kick. Sier good in close.

thought Maynard was awful, Madgen should still be replaced, Thomas unsighted again, Cox so frustrating. Tyler’s turnover, goal... and dropped marks also frustrating. Sidey a long way off his best.

will still get smashed by good sides, and bucks has to know it. Feel for the guy, but Why he’s so forlorn at the media treatment baffles me. Grundy’s form - and ours, was shizen the first week, and no way do we look like a finals side. He should focus on fixing Grundy’s tapwork, multiple defenders who continue to spoil each other aerially, team selection, and developing players actually capable of playing in a flag. Not just commentating on the game, and the state of it... which seems to be his first passion. Fix that and the negative scrutiny will go away. Or accept reality that we’re a developing side with only a handful of v good players, who will once again have to carry us throughout the season.

Agree mate. Still too many kicks to people’s feet, or 10 feet in front of them. Kicks oob. Turnovers right in front of goal. We’re not confident or skilled enough to play the way we teased in the pre-season.

Best thing about waking up the next morning after beating the Blues is checking their game thread. The comments from before the match and after after soul soothing :p

To think they thought they were a sniff :D
They were a sniff, sniffing butt cracks.

the sheer joy of waking up, the weekend in front of you, win banked, Carlton loss also banked

I don't like the rule. Makes the game seem more like netball with the defender anchored to the spot and the opposition free to run past him. Don't understand why it was introduced.

I think they umpired it better this week. It opened up passes to forwards, yet didn't seem artificial - as they called play on earlier.

100 goal full forwards may return.
