I don’t really want a heart stopper. I want to know what it feels like to be assured, confident and even arrogant. I want to throw around phrases like “percentage-booster” and make patronising but kindly comments to oppo supporters after the match about some of their kids looking promising.

That won’t happen so instead I’m going to go look at waterproof, puffy coats with duck down and stuff so me and my pie can at least stay warm

That one is leather though so has the drawback that it probably shouldn’t sit for 3 hours at the G in pissing rain.

Sometimes I miss living in the US. It was so bloody cold for half the year so you spend half your life trundling around in snow gear. It’s very levelling. Everyone ends up looking like a perambulating crap pile of layers and a balaclava

GWS game last year got close but season was all but finished at that point. Geelong game same year but it was so putrid throughout that I could barely get into the game. Lastly the early Carlton game that we nearly choked.

I’m envious that many of you will be there. Don’t tell anyone, but I think we are going to win. I feel it deep, deep down in my bones. I’m drinking a lot of beer currently so I’ll “fall asleep” (pass out) early, which should make the early wake up time tolerable.
