You can't use the nic spent a heap of time on the bench excuse. That just proves ROB point .

Shuey and JK spent the last quarter of the 2018 Prelim on the bench.

Fat, lazy campaigners.

Game was done and dusted dude. Nic flogged him.

No Taylor Walker is huge, but it also means they are considerably less predictable this week.

I don’t understand that point Tom is making in his tweet, though.

We shouldn’t change who we play based on what the opposition are doing. We take our best available team each week. If they aren’t fully fit, then they don’t play. Not because of Adelaides team selection.

It's amusing to look at the player ratings for that game. Nic Nat rated second best on ground, ROB 6th best. A closer look shows that almost all of his points came in the last when the game was over. Was terrible when it mattered, putting up two negative quarters.

ROB collected cheap possesions in the last quarter when the game was decided, dropping deep into defence.

When the game was there to be won in the first three quarters, ROB did nothing and was slaughtered in the ruck by Nat. Our clearance dominance was one of the reasons we won that day.

The only people who think ROB won the duel are people who only look at the final stat sheet / AFL Fantasy players.

I agree , if Gov and Barrass are a 100% fit then a game like this is good to get them back into it.

You do when looking at key KP matchups.

If we are short for defenders and the opposition go tall we are more likely to bring in a player back from injury. If we have that role covered we may err on the side of caution and give a player one more week to build up their fitness.

Don't forget the ex-player in the commentary box who likes to dribble the same shit all day as their old team gets pumped and the ruckman in question polls coaches votes :straining:

Im happy with the barrass could have played last week but we gave him another week approach.

Do that with GOV this week and also give Kennedy a week off if he has any sort of niggle in that calf .

Out Kennedy

In barrass

Allen goes forward and we have Williams spend more time in the forward line and covering natanui's man when he can't be funked .

O'Brien did give nic a bath last time they played
I think you will find that NicNat gave O'Brien a smart phone!!!! No way he would have done that if NicNat thought he was beaten.

ROB 19 disposal 9 marks ( 4 contested) 7 tackles 12 hitouts

Natanui 7 disposals 0 marks 3 tackles 24 hitouts 1 goal .

Sure nic had more hitouts but O'Brien did exactly what he said he would do and run off him all day and had a massive day especially in reduced game length
24 hitouts and a goal in a game that had 15 goals total (and only 5 scored by O’Brien’s team). I’ll comfortably say there’s only one person that was in the running for winning the position of ruck that day..

And if I remember correctly was that not the game we were up by 5+ goals for the entire second half and O’Brien took half of those marks and gained half his disposals in junk time in the 4th quarter parked in the backline? One person showed up when the game was there to be won and it sure as heck wasn’t O’Brien.

Anyway, changes for this game

Out : Kennedy, random injury guy
In : Barrass, depends on who gets the surprise injury

Rest Kennedy and hold Gov back for another week as a precaution. Don’t want either to be rushed back

Does not compute

I was probably more blunt than what JK and Vozzo said earlier this week, but I was basically paraphrasing them when they said there was a very small tear/lesion on the scan.

So yeah, maybe that has officially healed by Sunday, hence he is right to go in his mind - but currently (or at least early this week) there was 100% a small injury there so why risk it..

7 disposals, 5 clearances, 1 goal, 20 hitouts, 2 tackles.

9 disposals, 0 clearances, 0 score, 9 hitouts, 6 tackles.

Which player played better?

Need to know how many marks. Can't judge a ruckman on anything other than marks from what I've (un)reliably been told by the media....

I personally want to know how many stoppages he attended in his teams forward 50. That's the true test.

Bring anyone back who is fit. If there is still some doubt, give them an extra week. I suspect JK, Hurn and Gov will rest, Barrass should come in.

Next week we can hopefully bring back JK,Hurn,Gov and Ryan. Will greatly improve the side against GWS who have been in good form.

Wouldn't be bringing them all back at once imo. Stagger it so if (when:mad:) we get more injuries, the changes make themselves.

I want to know how many times he drifted back to help out our piss poor backline in Gov, Barrass Hurn and Shep. Who is going to take the marks?!

Those back 6 must be so pissed at NicFat, he jumps around tapping down the throat of our mids and brutalising the opposition with clearances doing all the glory stuff while leaving those poor backmen to defend. Selfish prick.

The cult of statistics has robbed people of the ability to see the difference between numbers and influence on a match.

Been having an argument with a couple people regarding Tom Mitchell. Like the bloke is so average. His 2018 was very good but to me that was still not Brownlow form.
