Past #33: Tim Hutchison - drafted in '05 & delisted end '06 - relisted as rookie & re-delisted end '07

Guys I've been a bit out of the loop recently due to my drug problem so I'm not sure what quite went down with Timmy.

I gather he was delisted and picked up as a rookie with our last rookie selection.

Question is were we obliged to pick him up?

One would think that Perry > Hutchison.

What's the story?

I think because we drafted him the previous year, he is bound to a 2 year contract no matter what. Because of his injuries, we decided to rookie list him with the same contract conditions so it freed up a spot on the list to grab a kid.

So that suggests we had to recruit him.

Thanks rooboy_88.

Unless you saw some of his games with whatever club he was playing for in South Australia, I'm not sure how you can make that call.

I don't think anyone who posts here has seen the kid kick a football. Most wouldn't know what he looks like.

Based on description he has more of an upside than Perry.

196cm, Kicks it 60 on both sides, quick across the ground.

But like everyone I really know nothing about him.
I only looked at his photo on the website a couple of weeks ago.

I always imagined him to look like a stretched out version of Screech from saved by the Bell - but he looks more like Shannon Noll.

What AFL team does Perry play for again?

The fact that Timmy is on an AFL list gives him more upside now.

Joel Perry's new job is a AFL careers counsellor. Telling all those new draftees how to ******** up a career by rejecting fair deals. LOL:D

True. Unlike most I tended not to buy into the whole Perry saviour thing and although I was encouraged by his 05 pre season, he never lookd like it for me. I don't have to see Hutchison in action to put him ahead of Perry, I haven't seen Gibbs up close but I am pretty sure most would put him ahead of Perry.

Perry = no AFL, Hutchison = opportunity.

No idea, it must be that time of the month.

Thinking about it further, it seems to be that time of the month quite frequently for Moti.

Maybe moti travels alot and with the time zones and everything, her insides get a tad mixed up

Tim Hutchison - Delisted from the Kangaroos list last year after a season of groin-related injuries. However, Dean Laidley still sees huge potential for Hutchison as a key forward and used the club's final selection in the NAB AFL Rookie Draft to keep him at the club.

Was wondering if the long awaited arrival of the mystery man is imminent this weekened?

Is he playing VFL this weekend?

Spoke to Hutch at the St Kilda practice match. He is ready to start football but thinks that he'll come through the VFL seconds. Will concentrate on having a good year to make a claim for premotion to the senior list in 2008.

He's coming from a long way back. Don't think the kid has actually played a game of footy for 2 years. Nifty Nev must've seen some talent in the 16 yr old version.

But wouldn't write him off just yet. Moran started off with a year in the Port Melbourne seconds and has made the cut. And it Hutchison's defence, grew up with the game and doesn't need to learn how to play footy, kick or read the game. Just needs some luck with injuries and hard work in the gym.

I saw him for the first time last Friday as I was driving past Arden Street - didn't look too skinny to me. And very tall - was walking with Petrie and looked about the same height.

If he can kick it 60 on both feet as has been mentioned before, will be interesting to watch.
