Exactly and it's not just pick 6 either, it's the picks 7-10 where players have slid down the draft order for whatever reason, and still most the time turn out to be great players.Absolute rubbish.

Giving up Cerra for #6 is playing the odds. Easily, every day of the week.
The point is, we desperately need another 1-2 classy outside mids/wingers who can run both ways, tackle hard, and are good distributers of the footy. Cerra and Hewett are exactly that, and we should be prepared to pay pick 6.
If I was Austin I'd probably stick to getting just one of the two above, and getting that other mid through the draft. If Vossy can keep Samo and develop Ramsay into a future Cerra, then just use the remaining cash/picks to address other list needs like another ruck or key defender.
We are so bloody close. The pieces of the puzzle haven't been able to all fit together yet, but I'm really positive that it can all change next year.

You have said 1-2% Chance - that is absolutely absurd - completely ridiculous maths.
Go through the list of top ten draft picks over the past ten years - its more than a 1-2% chance - its a really is a ridiculous proposition.
Pick 10-20 you would probably still have a 20% chance.
While outside of that yeah ok.
If the draft was 720 players and you had 1 pick your chances would be 5% - of a player all Australian or similar.
Jacob Weitering and Liam Jones didn't make the team - I think BOTH are All Australian quality - there are at least 2 or 3 players for each spot.
So 40 players AA - roughly capable.
It’s really pick 7 given Daicos. And we need mids so the McKay comparison not particularly useful.
Couple of better players there, certainly. Plenty that are a lot worse. Cerra is not a spud, he’s very good. So what’s the prospect of doing better at 7 or below from that list (mids)
Hopper, Wines, maybe Smith in last decade. Sounds like a 3:10 chance. But it really isn’t, because drafting is far from a science. Plus variables according to draft year etc. Not to mention fact no one seems to have clue given interrupted junior footy.
2-3% is probably overstating it, admittedly. But even if it’s a 20% chance of doing a bit better, when the alternative is a 100% chance of doing well, give me Cerra every day of the week. Otherwise, we might as trade down and back ourselves to pick Steele and Merrett (both second rounders, both AA this year). But I doubt anyone would want to take that risk hey?
