Probably smart. He’s looked at how long it’s been around and that he might not want to be a testing guinea pig. Who knows

Oh jeeez, it's only been around for at least a year and a half, wonder what mysteries are suddenly going to appear when the contents are metabolised and out of the system within a week or so...

among others...........
Well i wont be bothering to click on the Show Ignored content button to see the rubbish you continually post on this forum.

So there's no consequences for Carlton for 2022?

Nothing like those being suggested. Another big will play, he will do his best, coaches will adapt (game plan will change anyway), people will still be members, we won’t lose a sponsor based on Liam’s reluctance (note I didn’t say resistance) and the sun will rise.

If you’re getting the vaccine at this point, you have the benefit of the most extensive clinical trial in human history. More testing and data than any other drug or even new product by a magnitude of several thousand.

My take-it-to-the-bank, buy-now, get-on-board-or-get-out-of-the-way lock is that Paddy Dow is gonna explode this year.

The Dead Poets Society look is gone and he looks like a man. :thumbsu:

Choices stop being sacrosanct when they have the chance of negatively affecting those around you. That’s the difference.
We are not talking about your sexual preference, religion, tattoos or hairstyles.
Surprising how many just dont get this.

I agree with you that everyone should get vaccinated (I'm double Pfizered) as it benefits the individual and lessens the impact on society at all levels of health care but that's my view and choice not Liam's.

Yes it can be perceived as selfish on his behalf but there is no law to get vaccinated against your own free will as yet so it's still his choice.

I really hope it doesn't come to that too and let people still have freedom of choice in any of life's big events.

Isnt refusing a Covid vaccination endangering someone else's life ?

I was speaking to a friend this week whose family are planning a family celebration and one of the relatives revealed they have not been vaccinated and others were concerned about potential exposure to Covid and the unvaccinated were not invited to this gathering.

That's really sad that it's come to family segregation for them but it's still the individuals choice.

As for your question vaccinated can still spread it too (there's heaps scientific evidence to back this up) it's more about less load on the health care system.
As it's not a law to be vaccinated (yet) people still have a freedom of choice whether perceived as selfish or not it's there choice.

Jonesy is good at what he is good at and not so good at what he isn't - I don't think his absence would be anywhere near as significant as Weitering's - if anything it may accelerate the thinking of the new coaching group regarding how to go about playing a more team-based defensive system instead of the one on ones Teague preferred - picking up Young and (fingers crossed) a fit Marchbank and McDonald adds three defensive choices the Club didn't have access to in '21.

Boyd | Young | McDonald are three noobies the Club is running with: Weitering Saad Williams Plowman pick themselves. Stocker /Kemp/Newman provides some cover along with Williamson.

Less reliance on Jonesy's closing speed and leap might force some better teamwork - which is badly needed Carlton has been pretty easy to separate in defense - playing an extra is a pretty easy fix for that as and when required.

Ye, but ma uncle's, mate's, brother's hairdresser had heart problems after getting the vaccine so that invalidates data from the hundreds of millions of people who had it with no/minimal side effects.

Agree with all of that. Jones is either very good or terrible. Young could offer us less top end quality but more safety through less brain fades.

Only bit I want to add to the lesser points you made and probably don’t care about is I feel Stocker is now a lock due to his mongrel and Plowman for the first time is not a lock and facing challenges from Kemp, McGovern and Marchbank. I’d only prefer Plowman over McGovern.

Ive only bothered to reply to use the word mongrel and stocker.

Let me retort with who cares with speculation because unless it gets confirmed it remains just that speculation.

There are plenty of nuffies out there who would use any excuse to abuse professional football players and/or their families for something like not getting vaccinated. I think those players might not enjoy the speculation about them.

They can speculate all they want even come in this thread and speculate who it is but no one knew until "Scoop" let it out which is wrong.

It was fairly widely known that it was Jonesy. If Scoop didn't announce it, it would have been Tom Browne or some other reptile. He's only doing his job.

What if Liam was coming out as gay/trans sexual or his child was dying or any plethora of big moments you could speculate in his life?

False equivalence. In what way does being gay preclude anyone from doing their job? It doesn't. We have plenty of players with same sex partners in the aflw side. Why would it be different for an afl player?

You think it's scoops job to release that personal information to the public?
Breaking stories is his job.

People's private lives should stay exactly that unless they commit a crime or endanger someone else's life with their choices.
Yes and no. Once one becomes a public figure, the expectation of privacy goes way down. Once again, no one is speculating about Jones' reasons for making his decision. That's his business. No one is talking about his religion, sexuality or medical history. What people are talking about is his ability to do his job and how that effects the Carlton Football Club. That's a public interest story.

Hope this multi quote thingy works.

My point was that when you are part of a team, no decision is made in a vacuum.

The way Jones played was more like the 3rd tall intercept marking role.

He would play loose and back his closing speed and kamikaze attack on the contest.

Some of his team mates might not mind not getting pole axed by him.

Marchbank or McGovern can cover the 3rd tall role, and let Young do the lockdown role on the 2nd tall or resting ruck more teams play these days.

you're...........doesn't change the fact that you're wrong..........fmd............so wrong..............
Ellipsis...3 dots. Three!!!! FMD. So wrong!.
