I’d like for those who disagreed we aren’t shit to counter these issues and not with linear bullshit arguments.

Our drafting, in particular first rounders.
Our small forwards.
Our midfield.
Our team selection.
Our use of Dawson deep in defence.

They wont counter these issues.. shit no.

All they do is ignore them, pretent they arent real and attack any poster on here that dares to highlight them as a “hater”.. then put their childish little thumbs down.

I have asked the question a dozen times over the past 12 months of “given laird, keays, crouch and sloane, when they play, more often than not get 30+ possessions a game.. why do we comtinue to lose?”..
i mean, if they are such gun players then surely we’d win more games when these guys have so much of the footy right?

And yet not one of the toadies ever bothers to try and answer it..

Again yesterday.. keays/laird/crouch combined for 89 possesions.. 89!.. our main go to mids.. and we just get a 30 point win at home against one of the worst teams the comp has seen in its history.. we helped WC avoid the record yesterday. 8 games in a row of 50+ point loses.

89 possessions.. most of them dumb handballs, a hell of a lot of them dump kicks, some of them kicks onto the chests of opposition players, some of the kicks even dribbled along the ground.

Talentless, slow, non damaging, poorly skilled, shit decision makers the three of them.

Yet our more talented looking younger mids cant get a look in.

Nothing will change until the whole club is turned upside down and the old guard, starting with Roo, is removed. The fish rots from the head. Hes the head of football.. the whole conservative, back in the seniors over the youngsters policy, that has hamstrung the club for years now regardless of who’s coaching it, is coming from the top. He’s the constant over the past decade.

Some of us are sick to the back teeth of it and are begging for change.. others just accept the mediocrity and are happy regardless of the clubs current predicament.. might take another 5 years of failure before this second group wake up and join the first.

We were "pretty good" in the 2000's but didn't get a flag. You might be happy getting 12-13 wins a season but its not going to do us any good. Its not 97/98 any more, we cant just rely on a weaker year and the best team kicking 6.15 in a half of footy.

It takes time and lots of preseasons to develop a whole new midfield, stop thinking its just a matter of whacking in Hately, Pedlar, Soligo, Cook Rachele et al and it magically working somehow.

Why do you keep bringing up the 2000s as if it’s some form of example when we had the side to win at least one flag? Blame 2005 on Roo getting suspended and Craig not tagging Harvey and the decision to recruit Carey instead of bringing Pav back.

As for the midfield it’s called developing a midfield during a rebuild, not going with average senior players and not giving your young mids some exposure. That’s just an obvious issue that surely you can comprehend.

I have far less issue with the on field results than the process that is getting us there. Losses I think most supporters can handle, for a surprisingly long period of time in fact, but we seem to lack any direction regarding a path to get better.

Drafting is obviously a huge problem. We had a four year period where we didn’t nail a single first round pick. It’s not being “negative” to point out that this will adversely impact on field performance.

Again, I can live with the outcome in terms of drafting because it happens, but the process seems off. Too many of these guys were picks out of the blue that the general consensus didn’t have rated in the first round. It’s almost like we don’t understand how a draft works. By all means pick these guys if you like them, but if other clubs don’t rate them as highly then there’s a pretty good chance they’re available later, so grab them in the second round. We’ve apparently learned nothing because we’ve done it again in the MSD with Turner and missed Carmichael.

AFL isn’t linear is just a bullshit excuse and ignores our poor drafting.

And I don’t think anyones has suggested swapping all 3 at once, but we rotated no one through our midfield, we consistently have the lowest CBAs. How do you develop a midfield if they don’t get midfield minutes? Our midfield clearly needs improvement given the deficiencies of our midfield. Crouch for starters should be out and younger midfielders developed.

As for the week off doing me good, it will, I won’t have to watch our shitshow, that will be delayed for a week when Gold Coast touch us up.

Sam Berry and Hately are having far more midfield minutes at the moment and McHenry/Murphy are starting to be injected in there around the ground, Ned had a centre clearance yesterday so good stuff!

Schoenberg, Pedlar and Cook did okay against Sturt, but you couldn't say they are tearing up the field. Replacing Crouch with any of these guys would be stupidity, you think our coaching staff are just going to say "stuff it, throw all the kids in the deep end, its never worked ever and creates a basket case club but its what the fans want"?

Hately was getting midfield minutes but they dried up so we could get Crouch back in. Hately was playing wing, it’s not his natural position. He’s not a run and carry wing, he’s not quick, he doesn’t have a penetrating leg. He’s an inside mid. Soligo has all the tools to be a great inside mid. Instead of Dawson playing wing he was deep in defence. Berrys midfield minutes are drying up with Crouch’s return.

Its the utter garbage currently being dished up by the older firm of crouch, laird, keays, smith, Brown (when he’s out there) thats the major problem Bernie..
