He was the coach interviewed three weeks ago that elaborated on why matho wasn't getting a ones game.

Clearly he isn't good at his job.
It feels to me like the world is a very black and white place to you, old friend.

He turned around and kicked it straight into Joe who happened to be standing there . His fault entirely and I don't know what your issue is.
He's annoyed Joe got a goal haha

The entire team was right around Starc after the final siren. It was well recognised that he absolutely crushed his role last night in a dour display that yielded very few numbers for he (as you would expect) or his opponent. I really like seeing that recognition.

His power and defensive accountability would be such a prominent and unique weapon among our current midfield roster, but we just cannot afford to leave a Starc shaped hole in the backline with their current form and consistency.

As a club I think that we need to be more upset that cloning technlology is not even close to where we were promised in the mid-90s that it would be by now and I think we have forgotten about that

Rayner might be a good HBF option. Get the ball into his hands and put him in a position to break some lines. Basically playing Answerth’s role but offering more polish and aerial ability.

He kinda positions himself that way a lot of the time at stoppages anyway when he's not playing directly on ball, doesn't he?

No issue mate just trying to understand the ruling. Surely the only way Joe could have kicked the goal is if the kicker had played on.......Did he play on? Does swivelling and kicking at 45 degrees constitute "playing on"? I would have said no because the kicker hadn't come off his line.......he just rotated.

Yeah I think he is struggling to stay well positioned in a 360 degree midfield role.

Backline could be interesting, put as much of the game in front of him as possible.

Starcevich starting to live rent free in Stewie Dew’s head by the sound of his presser last night.

The funniest thing about the live threads is one minute a player is a useless spud and nek minute he kicks a goal and is now a star

I think eventually you have to think of match threads as the digital equivalent of the off-the-cuff emotional responses people have live at a game moment to moment.

The benefit of being at a game is that there is no paper trail. If you could get a transcript of every utterance from people at live matches we’d all look similarly unhinged and full of contradictory analysis.

I was thinking Bailey for that role. Has pace too to keep up and help others hopefully.

The best one was someone having a crack at Joe and he kicked a goal right after 🤣🤣🤣

Sizey actually got mad because Hippy kicked a goal right after he criticised him.

When you’d rather be right at the expense of the team, that is the moment to take a breath.

The rule isn't that you can't be in the protected area, it's that you can't enter it, or if you're already in it, to be "endeavouring" to leave it. The ball is live the moment the player kicks the ball.

So if Joe was leaving the area (slowly admittedly, but he's not unique in that sense), and the player choose to kick it, it's on the player kicking the ball to clear him or wait until he leaves the area.

Would love Bailey to play HBF.
He played there when he started with us and looked good from what I remember. I think he's very creative and can do more from behind play. Helps us slot Lohmann in forward line too.
I don't like the level of pace we have in defense and kept asking for Madden. Bailey would go a long way in addressing that too.

Daniher was amazing last night, we are blessed to have him in the team. He is a unicorn type player that any team in the AFL would welcome with open arms.

Big ticket player too that people pay to see.

Carrying an injury so not at his peak but I personally LOVE watching him play each week.

He's super fun to watch as long as you're comfortable with being stressed out every time he's got a set shot

Fagan won't do it. While I can understand Coach believing in 3 tall forward line, it hasn't been working for a while now with his preferred 3. We should have changed by now and played Fort there.

We'll get pinged this finals due to certain ongoing player preferences. As long as our selection committee blindly sticks to those, we won't grow. It's a pity coz with some more adjustments we can go deep this year.
I agree, and this is why Fagan really shouldn't get another extension. His favouritism and tactical limitations are becoming more and more apparent.

He'll miss and give you a big grin to boot haha. I like his laconic style, we need characters like those in our game.

The real story of last night that everyone has missed is that their two big forwards kicked a truck load of goals from contested marks inside 50.

We didn’t so to win was a good effort.

The mcStay and Hipwood are not preforming.

Good to see Gardner winning every contest
I see that as more a limitation of our defenders. Hipwood has never been that sort of player and we shouldn't expect him to become one, he's really a tall flanker.
