Oh I knew there were a stack of dumb f***s who’d been hoodwinked by this charlatan.

I just didn’t realise they viewed him as a son/father/boyfriend/husband/deity.

I find the number of people that vote LNP more baffling. In comparison Ken is completely inoffensive.

I got suspicious when all my correspondence from the Club was addressed to Mr. Noise. Also I don't seem to get the member surveys these days.
If you only have negative things to say, your views will be ignored anyway, so it doesn't matter if you receive the survey or not.

imagine actually believing the sack hinkley hashtag is preventing a player or coach from coming here
You don't think the perception of a "toxic fanbase" might sway the opinion of a prospective coach / player? Note the use of the word perception. With the bullsh!t media spin everything gets and the teflon coating Hinkley seems to have, I can definitely see it being a consideration. I reiterate, "On The Couch" can do a whole segment on "can a coach stay too long?" and Hinkley barely gets lip service, yet it's so unbelievable that a prospective coach or player might not see things exactly the way we do here? Surely we aren't that lacking in self awareness? The fact that somebody who largely agrees with the sentiments of the whole sack Hinkley movement, gets jumped on for merely suggesting the meme might not be a welcome sign to prospective employees is a worry. We have a whole thread called "Club Propaganda and Media Censoring". It's not exactly unusual for people to be wary of taking on an employment opportunity of they think the last person to fill the role were treated like shit.

The sign on Port road was just shown on 7 news, it’s happening gif

It’s actually hilarious that 1 piece of paper on a sign makes the radio and tv in this town.

Although so did the “crows corner” turning into the “port corner”.

This feels like a long-winded way of saying "I am in favour of appeasement."

The club has had 4 coaches in 25 years, what better advertisement is there.

Montgomery feels the heat will be "water off a duck's back" for Hinkley, and he expects the 10-year coach to still be at the helm in 2023.

"Yeah I would be shocked (if he's not here next year)," Montgomery said.

"He has a contract. It's a very good list, a good team.

Sack MOnty

Hinkley isn't getting a contract extension - he knows it, the club knows it. He sure as hell doesn't want to spend a year as a dead man walking. He's not surviving this, just a matter of working out an exit strategy acceptable to both parties.

After 10 years, with not even a grand final appearance to his name, and with no shame, still wanting an extra hand out to leave, and willing to leverage fan discontent with him to do so by threatening to sit in the chair for another year as a lame duck.

Read that again in flamingbloodyangry bold font.

Yeah ok. Because that's what I said. "Maybe putting up a sign on a major road saying to sack somebody" isn't the greatest look translates to "Sign him up for 10"... this is the perfect example of people seeing what they want to see. I tell you to read it again but I'm betting you never read it the first time. If you feel the need to further divide us by making me out to be a happy clapper just because I question the look, fine. It's not helping us. You think that the club that didn't have the balls to do anything after that prelim final debacle, the performance in the Ebert tribute game, or the "let's have a laugh while we watch us piss away a showdown" disaster is going to be swayed by a sticker on a sign? I could totally see the club going the opposite way just to prove how much wHiTe NoIsE it is. I'd be extremely happy to be wrong.

Listen, if slaughtering firstborns would guarantee him gone for next year it would be "sorry son"

The sign, merely a lightweight jab, has put the heat in the mainstream and we should be grateful
I thought there was actually finally some semi-mild heat coming on him right before the sign was put up. I fear the sign puts the media in "poor Hinkley" mode. I don't trust the media at all to put any real "heat" on him. This is the same media who are happy to entertain the notion that the Crows go after Clarkson, and maybe Dimma moves on, while taking shots at talkback callers and posts on these sorts of forums that say we should be looking for a new coach.
