A bigger emphasis on developing younger players in the senior team rather than reverting to the same old over and over again.

Perfect changes imo, don't believe we need an emphasis on developing players though, just need to select the players that help the team and play a team game regardless of age. Zorko and Lyons in particular have played quite selfish seasons imo. Melbourne have shown that it's not about the name on paper, it's about the unselfishness and off ball workrate that works over opposition teams.

Everyone knows Melbourne's strength is their defensive marking. So we're dropping it from the skies to their advantage.

Obviously won't happen, but I'd take someone like Leppitsch as a tactical assistant. Need a total reset to the way we defend as a team.

I got to say its impressive watching Melbourne. Its just pure workrate. They just all run and work so much harder than us. Every time they get the ball they all sprint hard. The ball turns over to us and they all sprint hard and lock down their zone

Pretty easy playing witches hats. I’ll spew if I hear ‘Melbourne did it to us’ - the first bounce, mids just stood there, easy hand pass, kick, goal. We were beaten mentally before we ran out there.

Apparently only at their best twice a year when they face us. Or maybe we were just the unlucky ones who had to face the Dees with their backs against the wall both times.

In some respects I'm glad they've found us out. In theory it should force the action required in the offseason to progress - no hiding from the fact we can't keep running this same show back again.
