What good bands are out there that a 15 year old would not have heard. Ive never heard of kings of leon before today, so bands like that would be good.

Go the indie rock seen, just above your age group.

Think:
- Artic Monkeys
- The Strokes
- Jebidiah
- The Vines (only highly evolved)
- Kasbian
- Kings of Leon
- Arcade Fire
- etc, etc

...or some of my favs:
Radiohead: Will take you a while to get in to them, start from the album the Bends as thats the most listner friendly
Smashing Pumpkins: Mellie Collie and Infinate Sadness
Nirvana: You probably already know these guys
Muse
Zepplin
etc

Rush, Devin Townsend and Strapping Young Lad, Opeth, Dream Theater, Machine Head, Pantera, Soilwork, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Therion, In Flames, Dark Tranquility etc etc

good list, listening to 'rid the disease' from opeth right now, cant wait for soilwork to get here

Yep i like the arctic monkeys, bloc party and anything indie. I know that there is a big indie world out there, i would like to get into more bands that arent heard of. And i have listened to radioheads songs, not bad.

I got radioheads song fake plastic trees, its not bad but i would rather coldplay over them anyday. Also what other indie bands are good, is kasabian any good.

Radiohead are much better the Coldplay, Coldplay are much more repetitive and stick to certain formulas (think clocks and the speed of sound)

Radiohead Songs you should download or buy, in order, so you can get accustomed to them (and what album they are on).

1) The Trickster (B-side), The Bends (the Bends), Just (the bends), Bones (the bends), My Iron Lung (the Bends), High and Dry (the bends), Lucky (Ok computer)

2) Paranoid Android, Karma Polic, Electioneering (all OK computer); Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit (The Bends); Talk Show Host (Bside)

3) There There, 2+2=5, wolf at the door (Hail to the theif), Let down, Subterranian Homsick Alien, No Suprises (ok computer)

4) The rest of OK Computer, the album kid A, a few tracks of Amnesiac and Hail to the theif (Pyramid Song, Knives Out, etc)

The ones in Bold i highley reccomend

I'd agree with most of the bads mentioned here.

Another few recommendations for you:

- Boy Kill Boy
- The Living End
- Incubus
- Eskimo Joe
- Everclear
- Unwritten Law.

Try Everclear & Unwritten Law, both bands from the early 90's you wouldn't have heard of with many great songs.

Unwritten Law - 'Teenage Suicide' is a classic

yeh i love eskimoe joe. dont really like the stuff of their 1st album but the last 2 albums have been good. Are the living end good? my cousin is always telling me about them, i hope they are not like matchbox 20 or something like that.

The Living End are probably the biggest Australian rock group from the 90's.

You can't have Australian Rock without The Living End.:thumbsu:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Californication.

Some good suggestions here. Check out Muse, Smashing Pumpkins as well.
