Over to the Game Day thread …

Whether Cerra gets up is moot.

Presuming Weiters and Williams are good to go, we will put out on the G a strong 22, brimming with confidence after dealing with GWS.

We would have to f... up pretty badly to lose this one.

Don't see Geelong getting close to beating us frankly.

As I mentioned earlier this week. DC is chance this week
The club released their injury update which clearly indicated Cerra was out for another week at least. Likewise Cuningham. Not sure how you think they're a chance to pay this week.

Watching pre season and training recently. Both Kennedy & Cerra have/had been spending time rotating through HB and the middle. Adam also said he is likely to play there at times if our full midfield compliment is available

Like I said, that's what "I think"
Turning back the clock to the great WC side of the 90's midfielders in the middle and on every corner 😀

If Williams, Boyd, Saad, Gov are all healthy, you won't see many mids spending time in the back half, but the likes of Cerra and Kennedy do have enough nous to play in the backline if needed

Takes me back to early last year when Voss copped massive criticism for the use of mids in the back half, but versatility is gold

Cerra can play hbf well enough. Kennedy was no good as he was too slow and got dragged back to the goal square. The criticism was fair enough.

I wouldn’t be going into a game intending to play either in defence. It is something that should only happen if we have an injury down back or we need to move Gov/Kemp/Boyd up the ground to chase a game. There is enough depth for us to avoid listing them as one of our 7 defenders pre game.

Cats are favourites, undefeated, with 22 of their best 23 playing. They won a flag 18 months ago.

I don’t think it would be a bad loss. I expect to win based on last week but we also can’t win them all, especially as we are at a tipping point with injury and fitness.

Didn't seem to be an issue last week, with a number of players out

Would the criticism still be valid?

Neither would I, as clearly stated

Correct

Possibly, but somewhat unlikely given we have ample weapons forward of centre

There is enough depth for us to avoid listing them as one of our 7 defenders pre game.
Never suggested otherwise

Unsure why you’re so defensive when I agreed with 90% of your post.

I just don’t see Kennedy as a realistic option to play down back. You’d sooner put Hewett there who has actually spent a bit of time down back in the past and done it well.

Not defensive at all

Any of Cerra, Kennedy and Hewett could play a role down back if required, but don't think we need any of them to do so if Saad, Williams, Boyd and Gov are healthy
