Having watched a very similar game to this one at the same oval against the same opponent back in 2022 I feel this does have a fair amount of planning attached to it by Clarke to turn it into this sort of battle. Clarke has always had this “If you want to play us like this we’ll beat you playing the exact same way” about his coaching.

Got to admit though naturally attacking players are being stifled by these plans, just look at what it’s turned Newman into.

A lot to work on still, but 2-0 with a pretty favourable run is a good start. Brisbane the tricky one in the next month.
