with the streak done and dusted - there is NOTHING to play for up at Brisbane.

I propose to rest Bartel, Ling, Mooney, Ottens and Gazza. And possibly Scarlo aswell.

Forget Port, they are cranks, and if they couldnt hold us off when they had us down today, what chance will they be with the Man Beast, Ling and Selwood in for Playfair, Byrnes and DJ/Varcoe?

no chance.

Nah, remember when Bartel got concussion or whatever it turned out to be? After that it took him a few games to get back into the swing of things.
Same goes for this, he needs to play and get back into the swing of things.

No No No.

We don't want to enter the finals on the back of two losses. We must play our best side and play our best footy one week before September

Sorry, but like hell! Pick as close to a full strength team as possible, which means all of Selwood, Bartel and Ling, plus if Rooke did well in VFL, him too. Hopefully smash Brisbane and go into finals with supreme confidence.

I thought Varcoe played alright today.

Probably his best game for 6-8 weeks. Will probably still be the first player dropped after Playfair on here though.

They can have their rest if they win a qualifying final.

They're paid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ footballers, it's their job, why rest? Especially in round 22.

Agree.

Although Corey, Harley, and Enright look very tired as well.

Rest them all. :thumbsu:

Please.

soft approach.

get back on the winners list and hit september full of steam. it will be a bigger contest than everyone thinks imo.

Yeah for you guys he did.

I think he needs to learn to slow down in his last few metres before thinking of tackling someone, he bursts along then at the last split second tries to stop and more than often slides past.

If he slowed down a tad he may put more pressure on than what he already is, probably resulting in more goals.

I thought Varcoe was a bit of today. Not in our best 22 with a full list to choose from at this stage. A VFL finals series, another pre-season and he should improve dramatically.

I thought he was crap. Scared of the spotlight and scared of the physical contact.

Could not agree more. I don't care how flashy he looks running down players from behind, he won't go and get the ball. Is terrified of anything hard. It's not going to get easier in finals either.

Drop him for Rooke. Slight change in physical hardness there.

He is too light to contest with most opposition players - gets flicked out so easily - that is why he tends to run around them. Not his best day yesterday - but he has a few companions who would not being keeping this in their DVD collection. Need to have a solid win against Brisbane next week - they will be harder at us physically (Rooke important here) rather than running us off our legs and miraculously stealing the ball in mid-air as happened so often yesterday.

Rest everyone, lets not bother going up to Brissy to play some deadbeats in 25 degrees heat.

Forfiet and get ready for the FINALS!

Can you please stop writing crap posts, you're giving us a bad name!

As for this week...

Light week on the track

Best possible team (sorry playfair)

Don't have to smash Brisbane but a nice, convincing win with all our players winning their position.

The reports I read said that Jimmy wasn't going to be back until finals anyway, don't think he is a chance for the Brissy game.
