Interesting hypothetical if all fit, IMO that side would have a red hot chance of beating the Tigers 2025 first 23.So, 44 players on our list; 36 primary listers and 8 rookies including 2 x Cat B.
Ideally all 44 players would be available, but surely the first intra should be the 22 premiership players (obviously Joe was the 23rd) v the 22 premiership hopefuls.
The Premiership Hopefuls 22 could look like this:
B R.TORRENT D.GARDINER T.DOEDEE HB L.BEECKEN D.JOYCE K.COLEMAN C B.REVILLE L.ASHCROFT S.BRAIN HF L.LYOYD S.DAY W.MACLACHLAN F L.McCARTHY H.SMITH T.GALLOP R O.McINERNEY D.ROBERTSON J.TUNSTILL INT S.MARSHALL B.RYAN Z.ZAKOSTELSKY D.CRAVEN
Think he’ll kick more in the VFL this season.Prove me wrong please Sam Day and kick at least 20 goals and brake the record of the most goals you have ever kicked in a season

Looking at that we do actually have the edge of too many tall forwards for them to get enough game time (assuming everyone is fit).
Day, Smith, Lloyd, Gallop and Ryan competing for one spot in the seniors and then 3 spots in the two's.

I'd argue it can be for most positions. Its a fine line between too many for anyone to get enough time and an injury crisis when you dont have enough to play.Having 5 competing for 4 spots isn’t an issue

Id say we have recent history where having Fort, Lane, Smith and was it Eagles? all playing meant we struggled to give them enough ruck game time.
This is probably hitting the sweet spot as we know its unlikely they will all be fit for every match. Maybe its better to put it at 7 forwards competing for 6 spots across 2 teams (and then the two rucks as well).
It was an issue when we had Fort, HSmith, Lane, Fullarton and Buzza
More than likely you're right although I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few games(and maybe more than most think), his body is very well developed for an 18 year old, looks strong in the contest against men already.Gallop won't be ready for years to come I imagine, but better too many to pick from to keep than too few.
Or a Gallopers head in the bed
That really happened?? Amateurs.Darcy Craven just had a heart attack.
"Brisbane has passed at pick 26" .....................pause ..............."Oh, Brisbane has selected Darcy Craven".

I have decided not to lose sleep over that one Grasshopper17On this. Can anyone explain why the drafts have all had the picks offered 5 differently? All seems a bit mickey mouse to me. Today "passes" are being counted as picks but last night they were not

I’m going to believe we hid Ty as best as possible, while giving him just enough exposure to publicly say we didn’t hide him at all.
I won't lose sleep over it either, but only because I'm still losing sleep on why are some of the rows at the top of this page bolded but some of them aren'tI have decided not to lose sleep over that one Grasshopper17

I've seen little of Gallop and not much more of Day over the years to be honest. Certainly never really paid him much attention, even when he played against us.Genuinely think we did tbh. His big knock was his workrate, then goes and plays his one and only VFL game in the prelim and shows fantastic workrate. If he gets the repeat effort part of AFL football down, I reckon if nothing else he could be a very handy VFL player for us. Best case, he plays above his height thanks to his physicality and provides a great third banana pairing to Hipwood and Morris.

Assuming we play 3 tall forwards in opening round, who's partnering Hipwood and Morris in our front third in your views?
With a squad as talented as ours, I think its impossible to keep everyone. And i'm not talking about fringe players, but some of our genuine superstar players as well. We can't give everyone a top contract, and it wouldn't surprise me if Western Australian clubs came in and offered him more than we could possibly give him. I hope we don't lose him though, as I rate him as one of our most important players. Was an unsung hero in the GFWhy are people talking about Starcevich like him leaving is a foregone conclusion? Have I missed something?
