Our midfie
I’m aware it’s not isolated.

As I said, Collingwood beating Port by a lot at the G has been the story since Fly took over

Even the game where we won by one goal, the scoreboard flattered you and it should have been a minimum 6 goal win

It’s just an old fashioned bogey with us and the G. Last year we pumped you too and you still finished Top 2

Let alone first round on a 30 degree night with you missing players

Just saying I wouldn’t be writing off this season too quickly just yet
Lucky us we rarely have to play you guys here and get yearly practice at beating the pies at the G

Do our coaches have an aversion to a traditional football structure? Like someone said we seemed two big key position players down.
Collingwood are a good example
They play big bodies in key positions, who besides Moore are pretty average, but their structure holds & they won a gf with Cox/ Frampton and had a back up ruck option taller than 187cm last night. And a strong settled defence. And play like a proper team with a proper captain & 1 strong alpha coach.

Does Willy stop to wonder why his earning capacity as a footballer is ten times that of your typical football club supporter?

Does he think it’s because he’s a well rounded human who has had some ‘learnings’ along the way?

Or is it maybe, somehow, connected to performance, with the long term goal of winning a flag for the club?

This generation of players are some of the most mollycoddled ‘professionals’ on the planet.
wait. what. THAT loser meme was from a player in our team?

No effing way

Delist. Delist TODAY. Loser mentality is a cancer. out. today

That was insipid.

To add insult to injury, some of our players were smiling and hugging the opposition after the game instead of lowering their heads and walking off the ground in shame - for f***'s sake, we even had the coach smiling as he talked with the opposition coach!

Would Jack Cahill or Choco have done that?

It doesn't matter if it is the first game of the season, the 15th or the last, it's an honour to wear the Port guernsey and you must bleed for it; our players just don't get it.

We must get rid of those who have lowered our standards and principles. The young ones around here and some of the older heads may have forgotten, but we forced our way into the VFL/AFL because of our success based on the Port Adelaide way of going about things. We are not that club any longer.

"Want to win trophy's", "best win loss ratio in the league", "succession plan" ....... f**k off!

I must be the only one who thought Sinn and Mead were decent enough. Thought Sinn defensively was reasonable and he was alright with the ball. Mead kept bobbing up and he was one of the only mids that was actually hitting some consistent targets out there.
Was at the game Macca and agree with you. I haven't been a Mead fan but he was one of the few out there for us with the rare combination of effort and football nous.
Also I recall thinking your judgement of Jones, a couple of years ago, that he would never make it in AFL was both premature and harsh. I was wrong. Time to put game experience into someone that doesn't close his eyes when he goes for a mark.

Collingwood out numbered us across the field all night. ALL NIGHT. We weren't one way runners. We didn't run.
And I lost count on the number of times we bombed it to leading Collingwood defenders on the 50m arc lace out like it was a strategy.
There was a catastrophic breakdown in leadership out there. Every embarrassing f up by a player was met with team mates running in from around the field (the only time they seemed to run in numbers) to reassure the player that f'd up. I would have loved someone to have delivered an old fashioned "bake" to his team mate rather than the encouraging "love in" that was delivered time after time. Ffs the crowd was laughing at you. Grow some balls and pride.

Oscar Allen's late goal for WCE moved Port into the wooden spoon position on the ladder. Feels about right at the moment.

I thought Mead was good in the final quarter showing he's mentally stronger than others - he was one of the only ones (other than Boak) who could successfully lay a tackle. Agree that Sinn was reasonable, in a game where the oppo kicks 10 in a row playing in defence is never going to be pretty.

Hinkley is like a weed in the back yard, just when you think their gone, they just keep coming back.

Tell me what club would put up with this bullshit, our supporters have been called white noise, fickle, unappreciative and other colourful things, just because we want a change of coach.

The extended VFL is catered for the Vic clubs.

One thing they can't call us is Wrong.

Watching on the TV in the pre game, they showed Darcy Moore gather his players and was screaming into their faces firing them up. Then they cut to Port warming up with zero intensity and fumbling balls. Was so obvious what was about to unfold.
The difference in intensity levels was obvious. Footy just looks like a hobby for Port players. You'd think they were playing in some low division competition instead of the top level of football in Australia.

Just saw on first crack and holy sh!T, Port were a lot worse than I thought. 99 points from turnover and clips of the pies outsprinting them, toying with them and all the port players looking very pedestrian and all together. No wonder there was so many pies players free.

Last night clearly showed we’ve gone backwards in just about every metric used to measure success.

Fitness - half the team were out on their feet by half time. They simply weren’t physically prepared for the contest despite having 6 months to get ready.

Leadership - we allowed the opposition to kick 10 unanswered goals. Respected & competent on field leadership doesn’t allow this to happen. No motivation or accountability from one end of the ground to the other.

Skills - horrifically bad, possibly the worse I’ve seen under Bottom 10 Ken’s entire era.

Gameplan - what gameplan? It looked like a Hanoi intersection during peak hour. No method, no organisation, no structure. Utilising Wines as a 2nd Ruck is about as dumb as it gets.
I’m not sure we went backwards with on field leadership we haven’t had any for years.
