Saving it for a finals runIs Longmuir still playing shit football on purpose to protect their ‘new’ game plan?

Welcome flogs to the Official Bay Sack Race - where flogs can come together to place their bets on which one of our storied AFL coaches will face the axe first in 2025!
Without further ado - let’s meet our bookies favourite!
That’s right ladies and gentlemen; it’s Cockburn’s own Justin Longmuir!
Longmuir, affectionately known as ‘JL’ by the Fremantle faithful, arrived in Cockburn after they finally parted ways with Ross ‘The Boss’ Lyon.
As seen above, JL arrived and promised great things, mainly being getting Fremantle back into finals contention.
And in his second season, JL did just that. Following a disappointing 11th placed finish in 2021, he catapulted the Shockers to 5th place in 2022. Trending in the right direction, Fremantle secured the services of premiership ruck/forward Luke Jackson with the aim of pushing further up the ladder in 2023.
Sadly, this was not to be the case. Fremantle would slump their way down to 14th in 2023 in a disastrous year for the purples.
Surely 2024 would be a year of righting the wrongs of ‘23?
In Round 20, it was certainly looking that way. Freo were sitting 3rd and sitting pretty after getting revenge over their cross town rivals. What could possibly go wrong from here?
As it turns out… everything. Who could’ve seen that coming?
One insightful poster certainly did.
Although even he had slightly too much faith in them.
Cockburn would go onto lose their last 4 games of the season. Despite their fan base insisting that the Western Derby ‘isn’t our grand final’, they proved to the footy world that it was. They were so worried about getting revenge over the mighty Eagles, that they had no petrol left in the tank for the rest of the year.
It was, without question, the biggest finals choke in the history of our great game. Going from 3rd to 10th in 4 rounds is simply remarkable and speaks to the clutcha that JL has instilled in his side.
And to rub salt into the wounds, they’ve just been played off the park by a pretend team that have never played together before and spent the entire game trying to create TikTok highlight reals instead of playing footy.
So, Freo flogs, the question must be asked; is JL the man for the job?
Our bookies have him as the odds on favourite for the Sack Race, currently sitting at $1.32. (Please gamble responsibly)
More to come.
Screw it, Carlton should offer him a new 4year deal.We have an unassailable leader now at the top of the clubhouse board

Looks awfully familiarAlready a thread going on over here:
Who will be the first coach sacked this year?
Two rounds in, and the pressure is already mounting on a few head honchos. Some teams have started the season looking more lost than a GPS with no signal. So, who’s going to be the first coach shown the door? Michael Voss (Carlton) – If the Blues keep sliding, will he be the next to join the...www.bigfooty.com

Simon Badloss firming in the odds
What a shame the AFL banned bookies from having a market on coach sackings or he could put some money on himself
Usually. You still melting about FootySpectre making a duplicate (albeit, superior) fred to yours, is pretty funny also.Aren’t jokes usually funny?
