Just texted in about supposed “youth” of Tigers in comparison to us.I wonder what happened to make Cornes so bitter towards us.

Agree. Lynch had 7 touches and 1 goal. He did more against Weitering in round 1 than Caminiti in round 3. Caminiti stuck close and spoiled on multiple occasions. Showing promise back there.yep Disagree with Caminiti beaten by Lynch a couple of times but held that full back position very well -miles ahead of Cordy and maybe behind Doogs but has found his spot in my opinion
Turnover drills are practiced time and again at training. The "midfield" Isn't a ruck, a ruck rover, a rover and mid any more. It's got the two classic wings and now it has the high half forwards and attacking HBs.
So much of modern footy is scoring off turn over now. There is set plays to get the ball to go back inside 50 from defensive turnover. It's usually the easiest way to score because the opposition is spread out for an attack and left vulnerable behind the ball.
Our HB attack is elite and Wilkie and Webster are both excellent kicks and hit up the next link in the chain which allows us to move fast. Guys like Wilson, Hill, Wood, Jones and Byrnes are link men in that chain.

That headline, "Imagine what happens when they face the real contenders" was referring to the tigers.
The tweet is a bit badly worded, he's saying what happens when Richmond face the real contenders seeing as they just got blown off the park by us and Port.
Geelong had more than enough chances to win that game.Turnover drills are practiced time and again at training.
They get it in the hands of a backman, to NWM or Sincs or Arie, and then try to move it as quickly as possible forward.
All teams know how we want to play. Richmond tried in the first half, keeping the ball off us as much as possible.
Our style comes to the forefront when pressure drops and fatigue kicks in. That's where our aerobic training kicks in. We are 4th qtr specialists, usually running over the opposition, but also even when we are gassed we can defend like v Geelong.

Butters back this week isn’t he?Make no mistake - if we beat Port in Adelaide for only the second time in 14 years, all the talk will be about Hinkley.
Let's help Port show him the door.

They flogged all the experts number one contender Carlton. That headline, "Imagine what happens when they face the real contenders" was referring to the tigers.
Sure, but when it comes at the expense of the fabric of the game - I don’t think it’s worth doing. Neutering the game to make it safe, will make it no longer Aussie rules.
I’d love to beat Port and Melbourne this year, that’s on Xmas list for sure.Make no mistake - if we beat Port in Adelaide for only the second time in 14 years, all the talk will be about Hinkley.

And Carlton.I’d love to beat Port and Melbourne this year, that’s on Xmas list for sure.

It’s overblown today, but the next rule change for safety won’t be the last one.Meh, I think that's overblown. You could say the same about banning the flick pass or adding the centre square. It's definitely not the same game it was 100 years ago but that doesn't mean it's not Aussie Rules.
I thought that was a pretty dog act by Mansell. Pushed him into oncoming traffic, I can see why they want that out of the game. Of course there'll always be collisions and concussions but they want to get rid of the avoidable ones and that seems very avoidable. It’s overblown today, but the next rule change for safety won’t be the last one.
At what point do we say the game is inherently unsafe, and shouldn’t be played full stop? That’s the only way to prevent injuries.
There was always a form of protection in the decades gone by because a pack would form. So you would always roughly know what is around you. It’s overblown today, but the next rule change for safety won’t be the last one.

I'm not sure what your point actually is. For as long as the game has been played players almost always pushed opponents away from, or out of, a contest. The recent trend that is being addressed here is to stop players pushing opponents into one, thereby significantly increasing the risk that player is going to be hurt. It’s overblown today, but the next rule change for safety won’t be the last one.

It's interesting isn't it. He doesn't try and hide it. He makes it quite obvious. Even when he's wrong about us he finds another angle to twist the knife.I wonder what happened to make Cornes so bitter towards us.
Playing the game is extremely dangerous. You can't make it safe without changing the fundamentals of the spsport.
