Pushing someone out of a contest is a fundamental aspect of the sport. Full forwards do it 10x a game. Sometimes that push is going to have negative outcomes.

It’s a contact sport. And Mansells supposed push didn’t alter o’Connells trajectory at all. 3 weeks for that is crazy.
Well obviously the AFL don't agree with you and neither do I.

100% did alter his trajectory, he was off balance and if not pushed would have been further in front,
Still would have copped an elbow from lynch but that’s irrelevant.

Well maybe he should have pushed O'Connell out of the contest instead of into one.

Don't think Richmond can challenge based on what happened in previous incidents, because they are why the rule was introduced, and the clubs were warned. The outcome might have been a bit unlucky for the guy who chose to push, but you know... Just don't do it.

Why would you hold the AFL up as the arbiter of everything that's right with the game? Don't care if you don't agree with me, Mansell shouldn't be getting 3 weeks for that.

Either ban the push entirely, or don't ban people for pushing. He didn't deliberately push him into a contest, he pushed him out of the way. His push was entirely ineffective, anyway.

If roles were reversed, attitudes would be completely different on here.

Just wonder if it was a player like Dangerfield or Cripps ilk if it would’ve been 3 weeks

No, it isn't. His trajectory was going to make contact with Lynch regardless, Mansells push didn't add anything to it.
So if a man is walking onto the road and a car is coming,
You push him.

Nothing wrong with that.

“He's neither off balance, or out of position because of it.”

i would say that you are in minority here, the odd man out.
Plenty of bias on here, a St Kilda player got knocked out. Can understand why.

Not all pushes are equal, and Mansells push wasn't a strong one. Watch O'Connells trajectory, it doesn't alter it at all. He's in full control of his movement the entire time.

The fact remains. the tigers turd should not have pushed the Irish kid. The AFL wrote to the clubs advising them that a push resulting in a concussion was going to earn three weeks.

Performative? Really? He pushed him straight into oncoming traffic and that act caused a rapid impact.

If a car hits an object at 60km and hits the same object at 100km, which speed will cause more damage?
Stop using cars as your analogy, it's silly lol. Watch the tape again. The push doesn't alter his trajectory at all, it doesn't put him off balance. O'Connell is going for the mark and would be in the perfect position to mark the ball had Lynch not been coming in the other direction. The push had nothing to do with it.

Richmond need to fight the MRO on this, for the good of the game.

It's the last I'll say on it.

No this needs to be stamped out, so you have it arse about. He need his appeal to fail.

Haha what are you on about. It’s the 1st time I’ve used that analogy and it’s actually a perfect example to use.

I saw it happen in front of me and have seen the replay. You need to get your eyes sorted out.

Look more power to you. You die on that hill

I still have no ****ing idea how all the attention is on Mansell’s push, and not Lynch’s swinging forearm…

Oh wait, yes I do… another sacrificial lamb for the AFL to throw to the mob rather than going after a “name”.

Mansell and the tigers are gonna challenge the ban.

He won’t get off. They’re going to make an example of him. He’s not a “name”.

Except he didn’t push him out of the contest , he pushed him into the contest.

Sniper lynch is just lucky his idiot mate decided to give a shove. He gets a free hit and no one's looking at him
