Poor Kempy 😟
George and Cez were great in the guts. Mots actually showed a bit when he went in there.
Gov put his body on the line numerous times today, it was one of his better games.
Walshy a nice return to form.
I think someone has been in Doc’s ear about showing a bit more composure.
JSOS , Weits and Haynes solid down back.
Durds took his chances which is all you can ask.
Lord must play each week.
Good debut by Carroll.
Motlop doing well in the middle?

Surely not 😎

A win is a win. The opposition are terrible, they could be a side that goes winless, genuine witches hats. But it could get us going.

Our skills were poor. Watching the games Thursday and Friday night, we are a long way off still. Lots of fumbles, bullet handballs from 1 meter away, dropped marks, missing easy passes and easy goals. So training, we can't handle the footys enough, skills need to clean up.

I liked how we ran. You can't be kicking too many balls from behind the mark in the modern game, you need to carry the football to open the game up and create good options to kick to and we did. Just proves it's not a part of our game plan not to run and take it on, we are just easily stopped by the better sides.

I think a few guys are showing signs. Durdin can play, White can play. I think a specialise small forwards coach would be really good for us. Geelong won a flag with Betts in that role, we should reach out to him. If Jamie Elliott ever retires, he would be another to reach out to.

Playing Walsh forward, it wasn't genius, the better sides usually part a mid or two forward and it helped with rotations. We don't rotate enough, it's not that we don't have the players, it's the coach. Today we were a little better here. Motlop is good up the ground. Lord is not just an onballer he can play around the ground a bit and should be persisted with.

Matt Carroll had a low key debut but should be persisted with. He will improve, he will.

Heaps and heaps of ball handling and kicking this week and from now on.

they done what they had to. Durdin wont always hit the scoreboard but atleast looks abit more likely then the rest. Gov’s intent much better which is a huge positive. The rest also done well but I guess it means nothing if they don’t back it up.

Lowered the eyes very well today going into the forward line.

I'm excited about the win and there were plenty of positives but we wouldn't have beat the other 16 teams in the comp today, regardless of the heat or our injuries. If any other team was playing they would have absolutely killed us for our mistakes, but Eagles just fell over. Structure and skills NEED to improve if we want to win.

This is what really sh1ts me

McGovern can really play. Today showed it.

Issue is it shouldn’t be conditional. That effort should be every week from someone as experienced as him

Acres got into some form in the second half against the Pies was hoping to see him kick on this week. Guess he’s an in next.

Cripps got some forward time which was good. Walsh got to run. Cerra and Hewitt both solid. Motlop and Fog need to be more consistent. Durds is the number one small for now. Cotters good return.

Weiters is Weiters and wouldn’t shift JSOS out as I think him helping Weiters general that backline is helping Weits participate a bit more in plays.
