He's playing decent footy again but not as damaging as he was. The chances are that there are lingering social issues that could blow up again. You'd want to be ultra sure that you did your DD on him. With such a huge group of young guys at the club you want your cultural stuff to be rock solid so that we don;'t end up where the Dees are now in a few years.

Talking of replacing Battle, I would see what Jack Silvagni is worth. He is a good solid third tall back and can drift forward if needed as a swingman. Costs wages only and would sort us out on the cheap. Carlton fans used to absolutely rip into him.

Wouldn’t be totally against it for nothing, trade-wise.

Will be 28 in December. You wouldn’t want to be giving up anymore than a third rounder for him.

I know he’s young, but Harley Reid does nothing for me.

I’d rather look elsewhere if we are trading with multiple first round picks.

I’m sure plenty will disagree with me.

I look at him and think of a young Toby Greene.
He was a ratbag when he was younger, skirting with the law if I recall correctly.
But jeez, I would give anything to have had him in our team any time, even now.
Reid will mature. If there was any minute chance at all to get him, I’d do it.
RTB would work wonders with him.
It’s a pipe dream though - he’s not coming to us.

One on FB saying they’ll take the 3 picks we’ll need to give for TDK.
One on SEN this afternoon with Dwayne who should be in touch with the facts but didn’t know - surely if TDK is getting a $1.7 mill contract, AFL will have to give 2 compensation picks.

Now maybe I’m mistaken, but I’ve never heard of a club getting 2 compo picks when a free agent leaves.

If we took TDK & Silvagni off Carlol the Blues melting would be extraordinary

Maynard is looking for his golden goose .... and other teams can provide a fatter goose than us especially as we are zeroing in on TDK and still have NAS to sign.

Would love Starcevich but he is a WA boy and has concussion issues .... so not worth the risk.

Bergman is an uncontracted Vic wanting to come home .... they might be called Port Power but their power is significantly reduced given that he is coming out of contract .... worst case scenario for us would be a 1st rounder or our Future 1st ..... if we had a 2nd coming back it might be palatable .... the hopeful scenario would be an F2 .... tricky one
