Was lucky enough to go on field pre game as my family have a few nurses in there that work for the RCH

Really love that both clubs are involved in this, beautiful day to be involved in. Reminds you that it’s just a game.

Also, how incredible was that burst in the last? Really got some midfield ascendancy and reminded me of late 2023 where we exited the front of stoppage and scored heavily.

All the smalls fired, Charlie was unbelievable, Young played the H role very well and down back Silvagni, Weiters and Haynes worked so well

Aware it’s north, but to gain dominance at the coalface and score from it is something we could do against anyone.

Not sure how many midfields are better than LDU, Xerri, Wardlaw, Parker, Simpkin anyway. They held themselves well against GCS, Sydney and Adelaide.

I'm ok with Haynes, I think his last two weeks have been pretty good. For me it was more of a confidence thing and playing with new team members. The past two weeks he has found space and he is a pretty good kick at least he doesn't bomb it all the time. He is working well with his new team mates.

Most played well, and they’re gaining some confidence, which helps with the ‘connection’(!) and taking risks, attacking plays etc

So next 2 weeks will be key insight

But I think worth noting:

Forward line looked best it’s been in a long time, lots of tackle pressure - perhaps the smalls combo of Corey Motlop Williams Fog white, with Elijah there too, is better balance than the extra tall. Several clutch marks from Fog under heat. Corey can mark too, though I wouldn’t encourage him too much, we don’t need MOTY from him

Carroll and white look the goods, back them in

Haynes knows where to be and what to do, has gotten over a few fumbles in R1

And McGov, to be fair, has lifted last 2 weeks

… so let’s see what they’ve got against a couple of stronger teams now…

Edit : oh yeah, have to give Young credit where due - has been good this year, there a decent player there, building confidence

Was an awesome win but Xerri destroyed TDK in the ruck. Was at the game and beat him often. Fortunately our mids had laser focus today.

All round brutality by us though.

I have been as gloomy as anyone, passmark.

But at the back of my mind has been the comments Mitchell made at the end of the Hawthorn game. He obviously considered it a quality contest. Maybe… just maybe… we have been better than we have looked?

That was a good performance. We were unlucky against Hawthorn. A few things went against us at crucial stages.

What was impressive to me is Walsh and Cripps didn't have standout games yet we walked away with an 80 point win.

Our midfield looks way more dangerous and dynamic since Cripps went mostly fwd. I like it.

Cripps down fwd with bursts in the midfield will be a nightmare for opposition coach.

It’s also seemed to force Cerra & Hewett step up, Walsh looks more ‘free’ as well.
