I'll have to eat a big slice of humble pie on Bowey as he really proved me wrong, might have to bite the bullet and bring him in next week as he should still be gettable, he's keeping that consistency

Glad I kept Trainor though.

Yep, I’ve gone Amon instead of Martin this week so I can afford Bowey next week. His role is insanely good.

If you are trading in a red dot, I don't think you really need them playing soon. Go for a late playing 230K player with the most useful DPP.
I'm sure ill inevitably get a red dot naturally anyway, I ideally still want whoever I trade in to get me a little cash eventually.

Sitting with this, Trac was a good get.
I think ive gotta swap Buss to a red dot, ive got no way to loop Lindsay on field or to vc anybody

Best red dots 300k or less who might play in the next couple of weeks?
Allan? Smillie?

Trade Powell -> Smillie/Allan keeping a bunch of cash for next week
Or
Trade Davidson -> Allan/hastie or something as a red dot who should play at some stage

Allan. DPP flexibility for a red dot will be huge. Boxshall and Grego would be the others to consider.
Minis presser yesterday sounded positive about Allan, he didn't say much but I think Allan is still first in line of the beagles under 20s guys to get a game.

I'll likely end up with Allan

All those looking at Ash, here’s my insight.

I started with him this year with the plan to move off him after his price rises but never managed to do it which has been a blessing in the end.

He’s certainly a capable fantasy type. Especially seems GWS are switching it even more than last year where Whitfield was the main beneficiary.

Last year Ash had a down year dropping his average by 7-8 points on the previous year where he broke out as a half back type. He had a few in game niggles and even missed a few games with calf strain from memory.

So there was always meat on the bone with him going into this season. I see his 85 average from 23 season about where I would’ve pegged him but with GWS playing through their defence even more than before and with Perryman out of the picture it seems he’s got a decent bump.

He’s always been prone to dropping a 60 as seen in round 1 but I feel his floor is at a better stage these days with Whitfield the main bloke he will cop attention and lack of Perryman and Cumming rotating through wing and defence taking those easy marks off him.

Certainly an option IMO but don’t think he ends up top 6

Someone sell me on Nic Martin

Can get to him from Davidson, surely he's a top 6 def or fwd? I'm just not a Nic Martin guy but he's a good trade in right?
After today, next three at Marvel (Norf, Syd, WB) then the Tiger's at the MCG. Rd 16 bye is ideal. Cops no attention because his disposal by foot is so shoddy and Merrett exists. Has an incredibly high floor and high ceiling based on his insane ToG %. D/M flexibility will become invaluable as the season rolls on. At $995k, if I didn't get him last week, I'd be getting him again this week.

Eyeing off him or Xerri next week depending how TDPotato goes.

Who you thinking out of the rookies then?
I'm a bit different this week as I'm now scratching around for a red dot to field Lindsay's E score. Part of the reason I'm going to go down that path is I wasn't keen on either Buss or Gray first up or Tunstill's JS. All could be red dots next week IMO, so I may aswell take one now to grab Lindsay's score. Other reason is I have decent cash gen with my current rooks crop.

Best of luck with this...I'm still pondering whether I have the courage to bring him in this week. I guess if I'm 'pondering' it means I don't! :tearsofjoy:

I’m getting less and less sure… He had some shocking games last year fantasy score wise.

I can see future me being disgusted with Rd7 me when he drops a 50 next week and derails my season. His next three are the best three fixtures you can have in the game though...

Yep…. I don’t really trust him, but he seems to be scoring really well this year at various grounds. Ash seems more safe given how GWS play but banking some extra cash could be helpful. As you say, the Hawks next 3 make it so tempting.

He's also the second highest scorer for the Hawks. Someone is going to pop for the Hawks over the next three rounds but I can't figure out who that might be. Amon seems reasonably safe in this regard but I have the same doubts.

He dropped 100k since the start of the season (bargain) due to two low scores (70s, not a bad floor) against tough match ups in Crows and Port. He likes taking marks (v good), plays high TOG (90%+), and Bombers have an ok run coming up. It's a yes from me, Caro

Will Hayes is named on Pies extended bench - $230k mid/fwd
Scored 70 50 70 in VFL
I’m in same boat with Lindsay.
My trouble is will have to bench Long 😕
Is it worth the trouble? Depends who to drop

As a watch
Lewis Hayes for the bombers Def only
Scores 132, 82, 118. Whoa!

Stone being a DPP gives me the flexibility to bring in either Tunstill or Busslinger to replace Trainor (who I now can’t bring back in after last night, but I can still change the player I trade out for him)

Anyone got any thoughts re: Busslinger vs Tunstill?
Buss without question.

My second trade is currently moving TDK out, not wanting to cop another -40/50k and finally move off him, but I no longer have a red dot to loop Lindsay in.
Really don't want to be delaying trades another week just to get that red dot back, but is it worth cashing someone else a week early (eg Wicks) to a dot and putting cash in the bank + taking the 98 from X?

Where are you ranked? If you're in the top 10k and wanting to push for top 1k or better at the end of the season, the red dot and 98 might be the play - given there's still a chance TDK could put up a big score and punish traders.

Or if you've got a matchup this week that really needs the 98, then it's a play.

But if you're not interested in chasing a big rank, and your match up doesn't really need the 98 then focus on the long term, avoid the 50k loss from TDK (assuming he drops another bad score) and improve your team that way.

Who you moving TDK too out of interest?
