Pant celebrates with a hand stand bringing up his ton.

I didnt think he had that in him (the hand stand)

Lucknow has a perfect chance to claw the win from the scrap last night but withdraw a mankad appeal.

Rishabh Pant isn't captaincy material in white ball.

Saves his best innings for a dead rubber.

He is too nice a captain to be a leader.

In regards to Mankad, no warnings, if they are caught out first time, and fielding team appeals, they are out.

If thats a grand final the other night, would Pant revoke that decision with LSG defending 12 runs in 2 overs, needing 5 wickets to win? Doubt it.

Pant is weak as pi$$

Hazlewood doing his thing first game back from resumption........ 2 wickets inside the Powerplay and he has RCB up and running in the qualifier.

Kings XI are 38/4 and need Oil Rig to do something with 15 and a bit overs.

The Rig v The Hoff on Prime Time Thursday Night cricket. An All-Aussie battle is what I tune into the IPL for.

Kings XI are 48/4 after that powerplay.

And Ponting will be having discussions with his captain whether to activate one of their subs in the Quaifier:

Here are the Impact substitutes for both the teams:

Punjab Kings Impact Subs:
Vijaykumar Vyshak, Praveen Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Musheer Khan, Xavier Bartlet.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Impact Subs: Mayank Agarawal, Rasikh Salam, Manoj Bhandage, Tim Seifert, Swapnil Singh.

Not sure who is the best of the batting lot in the Kings XI team.

Punjab are 60/6 and they are battling to bat their full 20 overs in the Qualifier against RCB.

Musheer Khan is activated and he looks like he been given LBW with a plum decision.

Wow Punjab are in a world of hurt here.

Weird call by PBKs to bring in Musheer Khan in a qualifier who never played an IPL game before

Kings XI are bowled out for 101 in the Qualifier. The Hoff picks up 3 wickets in his return

That Punjab top 6 is dreadful, without having followed this season not sure how they finished 1st

Eliminator:

Here are the Impact substitutes for both the teams:

Gujarat Titans Impact Subs:
Sherfane Rutherford, Anuj Rawat, Mahipal Lomror, Jayant Yadav, Arshad Khan.

Mumbai Indians Impact Subs: Krishnan Shrijith, Raghu Sharma, Robin Minz, Ashwani Kumar, Reece Topley.

Teams:

Mumbai Indians

Kusal Mendis with the 2nd drop of the Gujarat innings!

Rohit with a 2nd life. Are Gujarat cramming under the weight of expectation?

Kusal Mendis really is a poor mans Jos Buttler replacement.

Surely there are better Aussie options compared to Kusal Mendis? Hello to: Sam Harper, Jimmy Peirson, Josh Philippe to name a few. Even Dutch keeper , Scott Edwards is better than Mendis.

Mendis is only there because he has represented Sri Lanka at international level.

Absolute garbage bowling tonight from Coetzee and one fears those early dropped catches may have cost the Titans this game

Mumbai post 228/5

22 runs off the last over from Coetzee.

Mumbai the much happier side in the Eliminator and Gujarat have a tall order to make Qualifier 2.

Titans need 36 off 12 balls with wickets in hand to beat Mumbai

They have done well to get the chase down to this.

Gerald Coetzee bowling and Gujarat dropped 3 catches was probably the difference reflecting back on this result tonight.

As well say farewell to the Gujarat Titans for IPL season 2025.

Punjab v MI in Qualifier 2 in a couple of days.

Been thinking about this in the past 24 hours. Australias white ball bowlers are better than South Africa. This tournament sort of reinforces that.

Im taking any combination of: Starc, CumDog, The Hoff, The Dorff, Nathan Ellis, Spencer Johnson

over South Africas: Nortje, Rabada, Ngidi, Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen

All day every week im choosing that combo of Australian seamers over South Africas in white ball.

So IPL Qualifier 2 has started roughly 2.5 hours from the original scheduled start time with no reduced overs.

This game will probably end up finishing about 5.5 hours from its original start time.

So the final will put up RCB v Kings XI Punjab

It will be a case of Hazlewood and Tim David up against Josh Inglis and Stoinis, and coached by Ponting.

A real Aussie flavour to the Final.
