All the hallmarks of an authoritarian government. I don't know why the non MAGA Republicans are putting up with it, but they are decimating the fabric of their country. Forget the actual contents of his policies for a moment - the mere rapid rate of change has been enough to completely destabilase them. No measured approach, just ego driven, chaotic implementation. And now basically inciting violence (once again) in LA by completely overreacting to a domestic situation.

It makes it difficult to visualise what the US will look like by the end of his term.

What he has done in dismantling so many public service systems, and breaking down so much of the existing protocol and expectations around how to behave in government will take decades to repair, and that’s if you get someone who is willing to do the work.
