Lmao this piss Dees team couldnt even beat St Kilda last week and Pie needed big suck from the campaignerpires to get it done.

Not looking good for the Collingwood Retirement Farm. Old legs catching up them? Not even halfway through the season, very sad.
We beat a piss poor demons team by one point in round 2 and drew on the QB clash in 2010 so I take this as a good sign.

It's hilarious that this is your take, when the video shows he only ever touched him one hand. And there's no forward motion with his hand.
What’s hilarious is that Ed Langdon gave away a pointless free to the worst contested marker in the comp when any attempt at a legal spoil would have done the job otherwise.

Naicos should’ve got a load more frees - continually being half off the ball, as this clearly shows -

He doesn't get loads of more frees and I'll tell you why.... the reason is that taggers tag, that's what they do but the severity of the tag is determined by what the umpires on the day allow. As soon as umpires have a lower tolerance level and blow their whistle on the slightest of holds or grabs, the the tagger knows where he stands (with umpires) and alters his tactics accordingly. Therefore, the tagger may get caught out once, maybe twice but generally thereafter they change their ways. This goes for all taggers, so best the umpires blow their whistle early to cut out this nonsense.

But that can also be said for backman that scrag their forwards, then we have certain small forwards that continually duck &/or raise their right or left arms, looking for a high free and another issue that I have..... is this continued pushing in the back in marking contests that players continually get away with and the list goes on with other forms of cheating that goes on with players right across the AFL. Good umpiring can help to stamp this out to a degree but that's asking for a lot with our current group of umpires.

I love when I see Steven May abusing his teammates on field, just know the Demons morale is gonna massively suffer for it.

Wrong. 20 Disposals to 4.

Daicos won that position comfortably today.

Not only that, Daicos kicked a goal and finished with 95 SC points, as opposed to Langdon who was the WORST rated player on the ground Ruth 24 SC.

Langdon had ZERO score involvements compared to Daicos four.

Langdon had four disposals in the second quarter. He had ZERO disposals in the first, third and fourth quarter. That's Langdon winning? 😂

Pies sensitivity on display tonight

All clubs have a nice day out

This was Pies
That’s the problem when you invest yourself so heavily in hoping a particular team gets beaten. You tend to sacrifice your integrity and any pretence at objectivity. And you become just another troll.

That’s why I can respect the opinions of some other Cats supporting posters, such as PhatBoy and Mr Meow. They at least can see both sides of the equation, and generally present a very balanced, knowledgeable and fair opinion.

You should try it some time.

Not commenting on who won this match up specifically (I didn't see the whole game) but not sure this is the way to make a comparison.

If a full back holds a gun full forward to 0 goals, no one says "yeah, but did the full back have more possessions?". Langdon, as an average role player had the job of curbing the influence of one of the best players in the game - not to try and get more touches or score involvements. His success is determined by his ability to nullify the impact of Daicos.

that is what constitutes a win at Melbourne - a bit like expected score

lol. real smart cookie. Daicos' role was to get as much easy, useless footy as possible and Langdon's role was to stop Daicos from doing so. Langdon annihilated him.

LOL, Nick had 19, 8 clearances, 9 contested possessions and 1 goal, with a massive potato hanging off him all day.

If that's a win for your dirge of a club, its no wonder you're on the way to West Coast territory.

On a sober rewatch I noticed a few things, one the umpiring on Daicos as was noted by Leigh Matthew’s was just terrible.

Like it or not this game is better when stars are allowed to be their best and the way Nick was clearly illegally held for most of the first half and not called is bad for business. I also can’t believe the commentary that the tag worked, Nick got 20 and a goal while ed touched it 4 times. Meanwhile collingwoods most dangerous player in these conditions was always going to be Pendlebury.

Slippery ball, pressure game, close game where even one misskick can turn the game and you let pendles get 29 touches at 90% efficiency is where you lose the game. Ed Langdon would have been better off playing his own game.

The next thing that was so jarring was yes, the terrible insufficient intent decisions. I think the worst part about it however was the commentary begging for more bad decisions to be made after the first one.

Nick daicos hand ball out of bounds wasn’t insufficient intent, but neither was the one against I think sparrow (correct me if I’m wrong ) where he’s tackled on the boundary and hits a random handball. I thought we wanted the game to be in motion? Stop sending the players such mixed messaging. Sparrow should have been better dragging it in which is the opposite of what we’ve allegedly been trying to incentivise.

The carryon around Melbourne is actually getting toxic. This is a club that has been frankly traumatised, and they should be given some respect in that nature.

Angus Brayshaw had his career ruined by another traumatic brain injury, he was the glue guy for that team and the next year one of their best ever players almost dies on the footy field, all the while players like Clayton Oliver are struggling with severe drug addiction and mental health issues and the media alongside the fans are just sitting there waiting for a reason to pile on this club and make their lives miserable.

Then the Gawn-May incident, **** me yes it looked a bit awkward at the time and May has off field issues but fresh off the indigenous round the entire afl media ecosystem was ready to lynch an aboriginal man for his “emotional immaturity” (I sledged him in the match thread too so I’m guilty) when it seems like he just asked Gawn how much time he thought he had left and Gawny couldn’t hear him and was pissed off so told him to shove it.

And all of this coming on the day we were supposed to be honouring Neale Daniher for his mammoth contribution to the AFL and broader society and the demons absolutely made him proud with how they played. Shattered for the family that they didn’t get their result but the pies were just an inch too good.

Tough life for demons fans at the moment. It’s an important and historic institution and I hope they can get their board, CEO and new HQ sorted because that club and its key people deserve better.

Are you trying to tell me Leigh Matthews knows more about footy than salty Bigfooty flogs that hate Collingwood? Crazy talk
