All this and my other issue at this point is it's ANOTHER instance of there being some sort of disconnect between list management and the coaches where the coach sees fit to keep playing a guy, like James Rowe and Ned McHenry, that the List Management have seemed to have deemed as being headed to the delist pile. It's continually around this small forward spot too, which getting ANB was supposed to fix, but Nicks went back to "his" guy as soon as he could find a way to get them in.

Nicks is on that committee yes? At one point does everyone sit him down and ask "WTF are you doing selecting and putting gametime into a guy who A isn't that great to start with and B we know isn't likely to be here next year"

This is my big query, surely there are voices at the club questioning him on this stuff. I have my doubts because, why does he keep getting away with it...?

Well did you see what Adam Kelly said? This was the day before the game.

Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said Murphy’s attitude while lining up with the Crows’ SANFL side had been second-to-none, and his on-field State League form had also been solid.

“Throughout his career, Murph has been a great example to his teammates with regard to his reliability when it comes to playing his role for the team,” Kelly said.

“To that end, he has had a significant influence as a leader on the team-first approach of our playing group.

“This is something that does not waver with Murph, regardless of whether he is playing at the AFL level or SANFL level.”

“We love his commitment to the contest and desperation to get after the opposition.”

This is what we are dealing with.

I think moving Adam Kelly and Godden on from the club will be two of the major chess moves to make us a contending club

We look good because of a soft draw. We should be better than this.
Can you explain why our draw is soft?

Compared to which other teams?

So far we have played 14 games against 14 different teams. We are yet to play the Bulldogs (8th), Melbourne (14th) and Richmond (17th). In what universe does that equate to a soft draw?

Or do you mean our draw from now is soft?

We play double up games against
Collingwood (1st), Hawthorn (5th), Suns (9th), Pear (12th), North (16th) and Eagles (18th).

Is this soft? How does it compare to the other Eight Teams in finals Contention? We have three double ups against other finals aspirants. How does this compare to the other Eight teams in contention?
Brisbane - 5 double ups games against teams in the top nine (yep, that’s tough), Collingwood - 4 (pretty tough),
Adelaide -3, GWS - 3, Hawks -3, Bulldogs - 3, Suns - 3,
Freo - 2 (plus an away match against North on Optus in Perth and Geelong - 2 (and 10 games at sleepy hollow plus 6 in Melbourne). Do Freo and Geelong have tougher draws than us?

I think you just did an exceptional job doing it for me.

But for all your bluster, i am yet to see us put in a finals winning game against an opponent. How about we concentrate on that instead of blustering about what constitutes a soft draw. Right now, if i was a betting man, id back our opponents in the finals. If we get a double chance, id bet we are out in straight sets. We have no fight, we are flat track bullies and if you think we look good, please tell enlighten me.

Why did I mention THE SOFT DRAW???

I was responding to your statement that “we look good because of our SOFT DRAW”.

This is clearly bullshit. So far we have played all the best teams except the Bulldogs who are 8th. We have played three of the contending teams at home (2 wins, 1 loss to Geelong). We have lost all four of our away wins against finals contenders (Suns 1 pt, Hawks 3 points, Collingwood 10 points, Freo 18 points).

Our worst performance is a 19point loss to Geelong. How does this compare with other finals bound teams?
Geelong just lost at home by 41 points to Brisbane and by 18 points to Carlton at the G. Are they pretenders?
Collingwood lost by 52 points to GWS. Are they pretenders?
Brisbane lost by 52 points to Collingwood at the Gabba plus home losses to GWS and Melbourne. Are they pretenders?
Freo lost by 78 points to Geelong and 61 points to St Kilda FFS. Are they pretenders?
The Suns lost by 11 points to Richmond. Are they pretenders?
GWS were smashed by Freo and even lost to the Pear in Canberra. Are they pretenders?
The Hawks were smashed by Collingwood, Brisbane the the Pear FFS. Are they pretenders?
The Bulldogs lost by 22 points at Marvel to the Hawks. Are they pretenders?

So we are pretenders because we have had narrow away losses to the other top teams and one poor performance at home.

I do agree that we are not a lock for the finals and it could all turn to shit. Everyone has a right to their own opinion about where we sit but you can’t just make up “Facts” like we have had a soft draw so far.

Well you can just make stuff up but it doesn’t reflect well on you.

haha yeah I know I mentioned it, sorry if it appeared that I was jumping down your throat. However, my take was it really has been a soft draw with so many mediocre teams and teams with inconsistent form. Look winners are grinners and thats all we can do for now. However, what I am trying to really highlight we have not won a single match this year playing finals level style footy. That to me is concerning especially if we have played all the best teams. Brisbane was a scalp, but was it as good as we make out. The score line flattered us really.

How to use a lot of words while saying absolutely nothing of value!!

The Adelaide Football Club needs 43 players like Murphy I guess Adam? The new David Mackay.

Only Collingwood, Western Bulldogs and us have not lost to a side in the bottom 9.

L. Murphy.
1 solitary kick in the last quarter. Found time and space as a small forward 30 metres out directly in front of goal on his preferred foot. Snaps for goal and …… doesn’t make the difference.
When he grabbed that one I thought "Yep, here's his gimme goal when the game is done that seals his selection in future."

And then he does that.
