Couldn’t watch last week, but I was told Wilson was injured and didn’t feature much after half time? If so, tough call to drop him unless he’s being managed and not omitted.

Pitto helping TDK makes more sense than Mickey Mouse contrived roles for Lewy Young.

Any time we bring O’Farrell in is a positive for me. Young man is a huge part of the future and likely forces his way in to the best 22 as early as next year. Bit of a statement that he is already preferred to Young as a tall defender.

Cowan and Carroll are definitely a part of our future defensive staples. But harsh on young Billy, but he failed his audition. I am sure Boyd has some KPIs to meet and again failed to do so. He is a bit of a myth on this board. There are plenty in front of him. Think of Haynes’ little rant after the game.

Other than a conscious bias many of us have, Evans was the prime mover in the twos. I am a Durdin fan and would have loved to see him in, but Frankie was the right call. He and Fantasia can both contribute wing and even inside. He has earned the spot and has now had time to be in tune with our game.c

I will be annoyed if Flynn Young is the sub. His disposal is a weapon and should be explored seriously.

Moir has earned at minimum a sub gig and should benefit from another outing. Other than being combative, Cincotta has been poor and for mine was a poor/desperate elevation. We need to school another couple of candidates for tagging / run with roles. Thinking Cinc’s body may have his career in jeopardy.

In those weeks he's only feasted on the bottom team, the third bottom team and the sixth bottom team....big ask to come in and compete against the top afl team.....unless he has aggression...which at this point he doesn't have

I think that’s one of the best judgements for accessing any players overall output, firstly their skills and abilities overall, then how they apply it against different level as of opposition, he has been a slow burn in his first 2 seasons with obvious limitations within his game…
Started off the same during the early parts of this season but has improved some parts of his output as it’s progressed, has looked a far better player this season, still has a bit to learn and work on, he’s probably deserved a chance through a good block of form considering Harry and HOK unavailable through injury…

I would run Cerra with Naicos, but what do I know.

Watch Hollands running with him by mid match Probably a good choice pace wise as well.

Get Fantasia out of the midfield too and put Cerra there imo.

Fogarty isn’t capable of playing the wing role Jim, Williams I’ve liked playing forward and midfield, when played midfield he was great at winning his own ball while producing some nice attacking passages of play, Fantasia i think is worth a try rotating him between forward and wing, certainly has endurance while looking like he has gotten some of his speed back to take advantage of…

Fogarty has all of the running patterns down, he can dispose and link and share, he can tackle, he knows stoppage play and contributes on the outer and has a natural gamestyle for it. Has a good tank, just not up at Acres/Hollands levels.

He's now clutching aerial marks and contested marks, so he's got all the tools to do a job there. Do you think he can't drop back and surge forward?

Cinc really should have stayed in to sit on naicos all game....

Cinc could easily have played half back and played that role well.

Well, you can't say they didnt make changes. Kind of feel sorry for Ben Campo, at this rate one of the Irish boys will get a call up first. Hoping for some stiff resistence at least and maybe, just maybe we pinch a win. Go well my baggers.

It’s more the player type he is, he’s progressing well in the reserves still has a bit to work on, imo not ready yet but we need players who aren’t inside midfielders, they need the outside abilities and damage to complement our already slow but strong ball winners…

Wilson was under a bit of an injury cloud, but it does state he's omitted...

That's piss poor really, dropping the kid after one game where there were a whole host of senior players who have been stinking it up all year...

I get that you don't want to play too many kids at once... especially for this one but dropping under performing senior players is a move that should have been made ages ago...

So, 6 changes, 2 forced.

Well, Saad has been average all year anyway. JSOS been a bit below what we saw earlier in the season.

tbf, there are no changes that they could have made to make us competitive. But Pitto back in is going to hurt us... I look forward to his 1 mark...

The icing will be making Moir or Flynn the sub...

Don’t think Fog’s got enough penetration in his kicking to be damaging on the wing.

I think Ollie has improved his kicking and his longer kicks are quite effective, much better than his shorter kicks. Wilson is another who’s kicking is quite good, a bit stiff to be omitted after just one game - I don’t think anyone really played up to scratch against Port.

His tank is okay, good hands in contested situations while being a safe mark for a player of his size and playing position, good defensive player who knows how to find the ball when around stoppages or in his vicinity….

So just to clear i really like what he brings to the side, hard and unconditional, imo he is more a undersized midfielder playing that defensive small forward role while given some limited opportunities in the midfield…

For me, he really isn’t built for a role on the wing, he doesn’t possess the athleticism or attributes that is required for a modern wingman…

Personally we need to find another player to take over from Acres wing role when his time comes, I’m not sure besides Ollie we have the next attacking/damaging future prototype whitch we’ll need heading forward..

Imo wingman need to have a POD, speed skills run…

I think Wilson is out because he doesn’t have the tank to run out the game. So if you are going to pick Moir (who also doesn’t have the tank), you can’t pick two players like that in case you get an injury.

The other solution would have been to leave Moir in the VFL so he can play midfield and build a tank. But I’m sure we’ll just position him in a forward pocket instead.

I think Wilson is out because he had 5 possessions in 71% game time so he is clearly not ready for the step up.

I'd back him to hit a pass within about 45m, and to be quick by hand.

I'm not suggesting he become our next star on the wing, just that he can be part of the rotation tomorrow night instead of us doing that with Motlop, Lord, Cerra, or Moir.

I understand you’re thinking Jim, it’s just something i don’t agree with, but one thing I’ll say is you never can know what a player is capable of when put in a different position or role…
If it happens to be he gets given that opportunity like any other player given a opportunity at another position/role I’m always happy to see how they perform or adapt to it…

Part of that 2 years has seen Boyd spend time in the VFL this year to find form.

Our leading possession winner had 21. Hard when the entire team is getting thumped and it was our lowest possession game for the season overall.
