If I’m Voss and have any ambitions of making it to the end of the season let alone next, I’d start from now on selling GW that youth + mini rebuild is the way to go.

Acres, Fogarty, Doch, TDK, McGovern, Evans (at a minimum) have played their last game for the club from those who played last night.

Give the youth a 6 week period until seasons end to see who’s actually viable for starting 22 next season, send the players off for early surgery that need it. Bonus: the TDK compo pick is going to be mid single digits.

I know this is a long shot, but it’s the only chance of getting 1 single minor positive after the trash fire of a season this has become.

I agree and have suggested this but as it was pointed out to me, dumping them all this week and playing kids would literally be throwing them to the Lions. Could do more harm than good.

Unfortunately we’re got a problem that we can’t drop almost every senior player that deserves it, we’ll need to balance it out with playing the kids against the Lions, any senior player who survives this week but puts in another crap preformance gets the boot…

Whilst I know the result is a mere formality I think selection does matter this week some changes need to be made just to put some basis standards in place.

As a minimum Acres, Docherty and Fogarty have to be dropped and I’d imagine Williams will miss due to injury as well so that’s at least 4 changes.

There’s a case to send TDK to the reserves for his spineless effort and in Young we have a replacement of sorts but I doubt we’ll go so far as dropping him.

It all depends on what they think can be achieved in the last 7 rounds. Surgery/rest for the injured should be a priority. Then is the focus to get as many games into the young players or is to try and win as many games as possible?
If they want to win games, they need to be strategic and target the genuinely winnable games. For example, players like Cripps, Wietering and Charlie should be freshened up. Leave one or two of them out this week and then have a real go against Melbourne. Or play Cripps as a forward to effectively freshen him.

We have to keep playing TDK, we can’t risk Saints withdrawing their offer. I would play him as a forward again this week ( even though it doesn’t work) and then next week play him one out against Gawn.

Target Demons, Bombers, Power and Suns as winnable games.

Bought tickets to watch Superman opening night. Incredibly excited.

Added bonus that I won’t be able to watch the game.

I just don’t see what prioritising wins will help us achieve in the remaining rounds, which is why I said I’d go with prioritising youth and next season.

Re TDK, if there’s an agreement in principle between the 2 parties already (which I believe there is), there won’t be a withdrawal of any offers. A deal of that size would have been at least a season or two in the making.

Let’s wait and see how the next 6 weeks pans out.

I’m not disagreeing with you. Plenty of people want to put Pies up as the example to follow. Last year they were inconsistent and Collingwood supporters wanted all the older players to be delisted/ traded. They then finished the year winning 4 of the last 5, the out of form older players got rolling and some younger guys got opportunities. It seems to have paid dividends for them.

Sorry but TDK can’t stay in the side
F him off , I can’t watch half baked efforts although there is a few mates for him
Doc, Fog, Gov, and half an Acre can join him
Play the youngsters till the end of the year
At least you know they are keen and will have a crack

Let TDK jog along to the 100 game milestone, then CYA.
