I think across the board sneaky offers. If you can get Kuminga on say 4/80 it’s worth a gamble

But what if all three teams decline to match?

Then you're stuck paying Porter, Giddey, Kuminga, Grimes & Claxton. Hello 36 wins, and the #11 pick in the 2026 draft.

Was this situation with Lillard the first ever in the nba? As in getting waived and having his salary paid off in yearly instalments? Reminds me of what Collingwood did to Treloar and Grundy

Happened a few times, it was introduced around 15 years ago I think.

Here's something I can't be bothered looking up: do the players getting stretched receive their money as they otherwise would have or do they receive it over however long their contract gets stretched out?

ie is Dame gonna get his 100 mill over the next two years or 5?

I believe the actual wage is stretched as well, but I assume they could negotiate getting it all faster at a discount like they sometimes do for non-stretch waives.
