Forget about RD for Harry Scott.
Jake Batchelor mentioned his improved running from last season. Played some games on the wing 3-4 weeks ago and busted the GPS.
So we’ve got a 191cm inside mid, with good kicking skills, who has built a tank over the preseason.

The club should know if he is better than any of Dow, Sonsie, Ross etc, and if he is we should be trying to draft him. Even if it takes a pick around 40. The good thing is our gun VFL recruiter Oliver Grant is now an AFL recruiter for us so the best of all these guys in future will be SSPing with us or straight onto our AFL list, unless something is seriously wrong with our recruiting policy.

Riley Bice went at pick 41 in a strong draft last year. Admittedly he had more runs on the board but probably doesnt have the ceiling of Scott.

Cats took Kelly 24, Stewart 41, and Mannagh 36. Those were 3 very good examples of recruiting of state league players and being prepared to pay the price to make sure you get your player.

If we rate a state league player, we should be prepared to use reasonably valuable picks to get them. We should be looking to get about 3 of these type of players into our best 23 by 2029. Then we can have a team full of 22+yo's at that time.

I liked Scott last year and distinctly remember a game down at Geelong where he dominated stoppages. Back then he was purely an inside mid.
This year he has developed an outside game. The 2s game at Marvel, a couple of weeks ago against Doggies he played wing and was very impressive with his run/carry.
Jake Batchelor mentioned his improved running ability after last weekends game.
Re the players you mentioned, I think he’s definitely got Sonsie covered and has the potential to be a better player than Dow.

I haven't noticed that he has much zip and speed. May be wrong, but if so we have a few of those sorts already.
