Vic Country plays Vic Metro on Sunday to finish the champs.

Number will actually be interesting, pending the career of one Jack Silvagni. May even decide to make another number his own guven Jack should have quite a few years in front of him. May align for Arli to get the “1” down the track if Cody is comfortable with an alternate number.

I have one in my head, he has used at times in his junior career, but won’t disrespect the holder with premature suggestions. Needless to say it needs to be a low, probably single digit.

I'd suggest this early of a decision is more about focussing his training and integration into Carlton, prepping him for the start of his career, as much as anything.

Instead of splitting time across both clubs, focussing all in in one club narrows the focus. Smart thinking by the young man.

Could also be that if he's made it clear to the club that he will nominate, that they've asked him to acknowledge it publicly to assist with combatting some of the negative press

Now that JSOS has his name on the locker can he give the number 1 jersey to Cody. So we can go SOS-Walker-SOS-Walker-Walker-SOS (eventually).

Maybe JSOS can go to number 20 where Serge started.

Alternatively Cody can have 11 (McGovern to be traded/delist) and then arlo can have 111.

We obviously won’t be getting Cowan out of 2 for another 150+ games which ruins the chances of us going Walker 1-3.

Looking at the highlights on the Carlton website, CD reminds me of a quicker Jack McCrae in the way he moves. A hunched over running style with a big side step and a similar kick

Anyway, they can suck it up, they've got plenty of drafted talent. Great stuff Cody, and couldn't imagine him in any other colour.

From memory the early talk in that draft was around Cooney at No.1 and then and guys like Kane Tenace.

I think Walker sort of came with a late rush towards the end of the season.

He came with a wet sail after this game in the championships.



Wasn't really in the top 3 calculations from memory (Cooney, Kepler Bradley and Tenace were the talk leading into the championships. Then ran everyone absolutely ragged this day.

no the deadline would be close to next year's draft. He clearly wanted to make the decision early so he could focus on his footy and not deal with a media circus next year.

Agree - I think with people like Jon Ralph speculating and using words like 'The Tigers think are a good chance' that the club and his management just decided to put it to bed and take the pressure off the kid.

As stated earlier, I believe that after Sunday’s final championships game we will see Cody play in our reserves. Seems no other reason than to make a firm connection and an element of ownership.
