Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Go away for a week of camping in Kalbarri, come back to 41 pages worth of Harley content…

Is Craig Vozzos comments not tapping a contracted player up and against the rules btw?

Are you actually allowed to talk about a contracted player in public like that?

Pyke should put in a complaint and AFL should hand out a fine... but he wont
You’re allowed to talk to player managers, which he said he would be doing

Otherwise trades for contracted players would never occur…

IMO Vozzo's comments have been used out of context by Ralph - I'm certain they are in response to those articles the other day about "the Vic clubs Reid will not go to if he leaves".

Pretty fair that Vozzo would seek clarity, also fair for Harley's manager to not eliminate options for his client.

So you think the media is selective or even bends the truth?

It didn't seem like a bad ankle looking at the vision

He was able to put weight on it closer to the boundary.

I doubt its a long term one - suspect he might miss a week though if very sore.

McQualter, "I guess in the context of.... ah, what do you mean?"

Almost a slip of the tongue there? In the context of... the new contract he just signed?
I think it’s more likely to be “in the context of the season, it’s not like he’s injured for our finals campaign” and then realised saying we have **** all to play for probably wasn’t smart so put it back in the holster.

After tonight's game csn we assume NM are odds on getting another PP?

Probably works against us.

"See, the PP process hasn't worked for Norf, why would it for West Coast" said the Vic media.

Nah... it'll be "what hypocrisy?!" - they won 3.5 more games so they deserve it more.

And whilst we are at it a start of 1st round priority pick to each of Brisbane & Sydney as they got walloped by their State's expansion club.

And get one to Port Power too.
