Yeah I just don’t buy that any supposed in the know poster on big footy would know more than the media.

C4 has had some intel in the past that has proven to be accurate but he has sat on the fence with this one.

But you’ve got a couple saints fans saying they categorically know he is staying, but no one in the media has caught a whiff of that? I just don’t think it’s accurate.

They may end up being right but they’ve got a 50% chance of being right, and they can then claim that their guess was inside knowledge.

Not sure why some posters get off on that shit.

The media don't publish anything until they've gotten word on the record (even if from an unnamed source) citing a fact. And typically they will verify it with two sources who are on opposite sides of the matter.

And agents aren't going to go on the record until the decision is final.

Lots of games get played at this time of year re player movement so hard to know the truth.

Often managers leak staying rumours when a player going or tell the player to say they’re staying to relieve pressure on their client.

Remember this last year? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-08...port-adelaide-despite-trade-rumours/104290300

We won’t know until something concrete happens.

Literally everyone involved in that situation knew Houston was going. Houston was merely trying to deflect the media speculation at the time to focus attention on the Club's finals campaign.

To use a Portianism "Oh sweet summer child".

I’m calling it now. We gotta pull out of this chase if it’s still on.

He’s a brilliant player, but not what we need. We need to go all out on contested marking key forwards, crafty small forwards, and ground ball beasts.

Our forward line is the single worst in the league. NWM will not have the impact on our team that we will be paying him for.

Can’t argue with that, problem is that will take years to develop and I mean years.
NWM is a player you just can’t turn your back on right now.

Would love Nas but after watching last night a 98pt loss if he hadn’t made up his mind yet games like that will not help in the slightest.

lowest score in showdown history and biggest loss in showdown history and it was bloody wet!

Hinkley stinks but that type of a loss isn’t solely on the coach. Our 15-30th players are bottom 4 in the comp. The top end talent is great but our depth and bottom end of the best 22 could be argued as almost certainly a bottom 4 in the comp.

We have Whitlock who next season can hopefully overtake Lord's role.

The most important thing we need to do right this off season is bringing in a good line coach.

Next season? Next week thanks. Don't care if it's Geelong, Whitlock seems to thrive on the challenge.

Imagine what we could offer in a trade if the club hadn't blown its collective load over flaky Jack Lukosius 🤦‍♂️

One of the worst trades our club has done.

Lukosious will be great in a proper system. Have faith. Already showed glimpses, like in the Brisbane game. Hard to judge anyone now, while that piece of shit is still in charge. Especially anyone in the forward line. Everyone is checked out and we can’t do shit.

Next season? He is already way better than lord.

We could pluck a key forward from the bush league and they’d be better than Lord.

What would you do about his body language? Someone needs to tell him some hard truths about the negative effect it will have on those around him. Sukosius

I still don’t like this so called checked out attitude, professional sportsman don’t check out because they have too much pride in their profession.
Losers check out because they don’t have what it takes to make it in the big time.
Checking out is commonly used by supporters when in reality the truth is the players are just not good enough.
That’s why Butters is a true champion as seen last night surrounded by bog average players.

Are they currently bottom 4? No, they aren't. Have they had key position players out from the start of the season which has thrown structures out specifically the backline since round 1? Yes. Have they had a bad season with injuries? Yes. Are there mediocre players for depth? Yes, like all teams.

This bottom 4 nonsense and stating this team is in a world of pain for years to come and Nas shouldn't come here and blah blah blah shows that who ever is saying this crap doesn't know footy or is just being an idiot 🤦

They've had a very bad year from before it started. It was clearly cursed day 1. But they are NOT a bottom 4 bloody team ffs..

I have been watching the SANFL games and agree with you and Fords comment. He should ideally already been given games.

I just have zero faith the selection committee will choose Whitlock.
