Do you think the Tasmanian AFL team will ever happen?

Unless they were losing Butters anyway, seems like a circular exercise to move him on just to create the opportunity to draft NWM

Makes you wonder what the net gain is in all of that?

Some brutal sledging happening on The Tiser comments after Powers latest failure

Yeah Port Power really struggling now.

A few options going forward inc complete rebuild (see Crows 6 years but admit will take an extra couple of years I am afraid to say due to new teams entering) or could contemplate the more drastic merged SA team known as the Adelaide Crows “the Pride and Power of South Australia” (wears crows traditional guernsey for all real stuff and incorporates a strip of teal in their socks during the preseason)

Isn’t the Captain meant to go down with the ship.

I was hoping Cats would get up by 119 halfway thru the last quarter and then effectively “declare” and play keeping’s off to Port Power for the last 5 mins or so

The only thing Port Power will win for the next decade is something my dear Mum kept in the kitchen draw

That was a bit weak from Geelong. 119 in their sights but they showed some mercy and eased off a bit.

Cmon Power, in all honesty you have 3 weeks only left to honour Ken. He has been a very good coach. Not a great coach as clearly no flags. Actually no grand finals either from memory. But he took over when the club was at its lowest in 2012. He and the administration pulled the club out of a bad spot at the time so Ken should always be celebrated for what he has done to restore some respect back into the tealsters.

So in all honesty let’s finish off strong with the utmost determination boys and try and limit any damage in future losses (ideally 12 goals or less)

Port can't rebuild because their supporters are so fickle.

If they went 7 years out of the Eight they would go bankrupt.

Got to remember the SMA deal Keith Thomas and Trigg signed off on is heavily geared towards big crowds.

Koch knows this, so his Footy related KPI is to keep the team competitive enough to keep the punters coming.

If they win Finals, a bonus.

The clubs don't make coin from hosting Finals so he don't care.

Koch has admitted they will never rebuild

So if we pretend Josh Carr is just the midfield coach, why is it that Butters is so easily tagged out?

Josh Carr has no plan for this?

There is little evidence to suggest he is a good coach.

Ken may not have made a GF, but he has been a good coach/teacher/mentor.

Carr shows nothing of this.

As I’ve said previously, look at his SANFL record. Yes, he won a flag (after the previous week having 19 men on the ground) but his record in the other three years is not pretty. He is massively overated.

Who was the last SANFL Premiership coach to have to be an AFL head cich?

Bassett, the best. Has been at a couple of clubs as an assistant

Godden, our SANFL coach.

Anyone else?

John Cahill /Neil Balme???

It doesn't seem to translate to the AFL.

If Butters is leaving as a free agent next year, it'd make sense to trade him this year for capital and use it on someone like NWM.

The net result is negligible though.

Even worse if Port give up better draft capital.

But hey, the best us to NWM. And he gets to play Footy with his mates.
