Do we think he moves this year or stays at the Dees?

Form in 2025 has been pretty average, but I wonder if that has to do with being mentally checked out of the Dee’s.

Prior to injury was still a top ten player in the comp. Would a fresh start reinvigorate him or his he on a downward spiral?

Id suggest the Bulldogs is the club he would go too and choose. Bont takes a insane amount of pressure off him and he represents a quicker get then the Zak Butters chase Doggies can pay his wages easily, they have the assets to get it done moreso then Hawthorn. I could see a deal around pick 10 and whatever they get for JUH to get it done.

No chance. His dream of playing with Conor Nash probably isnt as strong as his dream of playing with Marcus Bontempelli
I am sure his dream of playing with Liam Jones probably isn't as strong as his dream of playing with Barrass.

See i can also post rubbish.

Who at Hawks will help his game? He walks into your midfield with the no 1 target on his back. If he goes to Bulldogs he is 2nd fiddle to Bontempelli. He doesnt get tagged, he isnt copping the hits behind play. He is playing forward + mid as opposed to just full time mid which will shorten his career, he will earn more money at Bulldogs since they got plenty of space free

What reason would he pick Hawks over Bulldogs? I get he might be going but Hawks are simply not even close to in the running. Its Bulldogs, Geelong or he is staying i think

lol @ Dees will pay his salary.

Why wouldn’t we just keep him? He is still performing, one of our best players and will go well into his 30s with the way he looks after himself.

Always that one bloke who brings it up when there is zero reason for it. It’s not as if we have cap pressure or a laundry list of expensive players we are ready to bring in we need the cap for.

If he asks for a trade again I think it would be moronic not to pull the trigger this time

That sounds nice and all but as nice as it sounds, Petracca would cost us a motza and I'd rather us focus on our KPD deficiencies or someone like Butters who will still be at the club in 8 years.

I honestly think Jack Silvagni is the best you can do KPD wise in the next few years so think that is the answer

When it comes to Petraccs vs Butters im taking Petracca every day of the week. He wont have 8 years left but he will be cheaper and better in the short term. I think Petracca has 4 more years of A grade football and think he will be half the cost so why not

Man I don't know, you're probably splitting hairs if you think Petracca in 2026 is going to be better than Butters. The extra cost for Butters is absolutely worth the extra 4 years of service he'd probably give.

It's not to downplay Petracca by any means, he's an absolute ripper, but we're looking at 2027 when Liberatore and Treloar are retired and Bont is 32. I don't really want us relying also on a 32 year old Petracca as well.

It would be moronic to pay his salary at another club, unless said club wanted to send 2-3 first rounders back that is.

Us paying any salary just adds to the compo coming back.
Sorry, yeah I agree on the salary thing, clean trade is some kind of first in the teens IMO. Shouldnt be a need to pay salary

Is he worth the extra say 800k per year in wages he will be earning in that time period? Butters offers more but he costs more too. Id take the cheaper certainty then the maybe of Zak Butters on a much higher cost

You really have a bee in your bonnet with the Hawks dont you? Is it the 2 grandfinal beltings you received from them?

So why would he pick the Hawks over the Dogs???? Because they are a better team with better youth and will have the best facility in the country soon. You talk about Hawks like they're the Eagles!

Jog on..

I gave my reasons?

If im any midfielder Doggies is the club I want to join over well anyone. They got the perfect midfield mix to play with. At Hawthorn you are just copping the tag and carrying the burden. At Doggies you got none of that as a problem. You also got a club with more money to offer on top of all that

Its not a hard choice here.
