He would need an uninterrupted preseason for me to consider him. Second soft tissue injury since his attempted comeback.
Pretty sure the science suggests that off-season breaks act as circuit breakers but once you've had a soft tissue injury you're significantly more likely to suffer another that season than someone who hasn't.

A shame for him and a shame for his prospects as a SC midfield premo.

I started with him after his big Round Zero game but had to trade him out the first time he got injured.

I won't be picking him even if he has a good preseason and has another big Round Zero game next year.

FMD. Navicular bones can be career ending at the elite level. Hope he can make a full recovery and get back to his best next year.
Matthew Egan immediately springs to mind, the Geelong medicos tried to get him back in for the GF after hurting it in round 22 and he never recovered enough to play another game. Hopefully not the case for Day

Be managing him. Must have picked up something in that game, he disappeared in the last half.

Yeah that's what I meant. They are managing his training loads.

I did feel like in the 2nd half on the weekend he spent a lot of time away from the stoppages. I was thinking they might have been managing him through some soreness during the game.
