That was like 6 weeks ago. I don't think that is the problem tonight.

IN the GC game we made a massive come back and almost won. But we couldn't win the resulting cliff hanger, which worried me because that was once our strength.

Against Freo, 4 goals up in the final qur yet relinquished the lead and again lost in a cliff hanger.
Game against Richmond was meh and clearly gave us little information.

But the form slump has now metasized into a form collapse. Looks like the team has lost faith in its ability to win. That will for victory (apparent in the GC game) started to decline against Freo, and then against Brisbane nosedived further. Right now, it has reached depths we haven't seen before.

If it is all due to Howe being injured, then we were never going to win the flag. We won the flag in 2023 when we lost Nathan Murphy

Our problem moving forward is we simply have no game breakers in the middle, nobody with power or athleticism, all slow and vanilla or in the back end of their careers, how are we going to fix that? We badly need a Kozzie, NAS type with game and line breaking speed and craft, if you camp on Naicos we turn to absolute butter

This second half will dictate the rest of our season. We have to find something in this next hour of football after 5 weeks of not showing anything or we are done.

Any thoughts of us being in the window next season are well and truly gone, so it has to be here and now this season or bust.

I'd also be holding off on signing any of our elder statesmen right now (including Pendles, Sidey, Crisp, and Howe) as this squad may unfortunately be closer to our 2013-14 level than our 2022-23 level, if the monumental slide we've seen unfold before our eyes this past couple of months is any indication.

Pendles can have the games record, but yeah the rest should all be withdrawn until after the season finishes.

Newcombe braced himself, he had a second to do so... Howe had eyes on the ball and was relaxed. He looked like he had a bad whiplash. I didn't see head contact unless it's forehead to jaw of Howe.

Newcombe has the advantage in that clash... he had a bit of time to tense up.

Nothing wrong with the contest imo. I wonder if most of the damage was done when Howe smashed his head into the ground.
